                                                                                 (Ten Years later)

Jay stood at the base of the cliff and looked around. As much as he hated this place, he could not help musing over exactly how pretty it actually was. He smiled slightly and turned around to see Eva, hurrying towards him, still way behind him. He could not help grinning as he called out.

'What's wrong? Tired already? Want me to pick you up?

Eva caught up with him and gave him a light punch on his shoulder. She screwed up her petite cute face as she answered him.

'Yeah. You don't wait for me. Idiot!'

Jay smiled as he held her hand making way on the definite steps that were now made on the cliff. He casually asked.

'Oh yeah? So why did you marry me then?'

He turn to face his right side where she stood clutching his arm just as she had done when they had walked down the aisle a year back and said their vows together. She smiled and ruffled his hair lightly with her other hand.

'Because I could not help but fall in love with the most wonderful man I had ever met.'

Jay grinned lazily, knowing that it made him look extra cool and kept climbing up. They reached the top in a surprisingly short time and Jay was amazed. His dad had been right. They had invested to resurrect the place. They had constructed a proper way to the top of the cliff and the summit now had been completely changed to what Jay remembered. It was concreted and the whole peak had been made a kid of a wonderful balcony which gave a breathtaking view of the surroundings. Right through the middle, originated a bridge it was no longer the wooden plank one. It too was of solid concrete. Jay nodded, feeling glad.

Eva traced his jaw bone with a finger pulling him back to the present. He looked at him and smiled as she leaned towards him and whispered. Jay had a lockjaw for a moment. She looked too much like Dawn when she did that. He blinked and looked away, pursing his lips. She asked.

'Is everything okay, love? Do you want to sit?'

Jay followed her gave to a few benches which were placed on the balcony so that visitors could sit and enjoy the view. He nodded and they both dropped on one, near the edge.

Eva was still looking at him, while he gazed out in a distance. Below them, the marsh still bubbled. Looking at it formed a hard lump in Jay's throat. He looked up at the horizon instead, just in time to see a spectacular sunset. The sun was going down low behind the cliff across the bridge. Eva followed his gaze. The orange sunset was throwing over them a variety of colours, each shining brightly as it struck. Eva gasped; this was probably her first experience while Jay had been here before. Jay smiled and looked at her as the sky slowly turned purple. He caressed her hair and her closed eyes opened with a snap.

'What were you doing, darling?'

Eva smiled and pointed on the sky.

'First star in the evening, right? Thought I should pray. More of a habit, really.'

Jay took her hand and their fingers entwined. Eva snuggled into his arms placing her head on his shoulders. Jay was thinking. Dawn had started the horrors in this place eighteen years back. And then ten years back, she had ended them as well. She had been the last victim. A victim to her own monster.

Wishing he would stop thinking about that, Jay turned his head to his side only to see Eva looking up at his silent musings. She smiled slightly and kissed his hand. Jay returned the smile and pulled her closer to himself. This was the best thing about her. She never disturbed him when he was deep in his thoughts. Sometimes, he wished she would, so that he would have a chance to lighten the burden on his chest. But she never did. She always let him have his space. Looking down at her, holding her hand, Jay thought how lucky he was to have her. She had loved him without doubt, helped him pull through the trauma he had been through. He had met her merely three years back in his post graduate program.... And now.... She was quite literally his life.

The perfect girl for his life. But nobody was perfect right? Jay had lost his heart to Dawn, and never thought he would be able to love again. Time and Eva had proved him wrong. He had loved again and with more intensity than before. In fact, imagining a life without her was almost impossible to him now.

Eva. He cursed himself and looked down at her again. Her dark eyes were sparkling, violet under the darkening sky and her face showed all colours of love and happiness and she silently looked up at him taking in his features. Jay bent down and placed an appropriate kiss on her forehead before softly whispering in her ears.

'I love you, Eva! Please, don't ever leave me.'

He was amazed to hear how pleading his voice sounded. Eva looked surprised too, but whatever she was thinking, she held in back, saying.

'You know I never would. I love you too much too!'

Jay smiled at that and let her kiss his cheek as she nestled into him further. Jay tightened his hold and gazed out in the skies..... Somewhere out there. He looked back at Eva who had her eyes closed, enjoying the closeness. Jay spoke softly.

'Let me tell you a story.'

Eva opened her eyes, confused.

'Sorry?'

Jay grinned and winked.

'Let me tell you a story.'

Eva pulled a face squeezing into him.

'Nah! I don't like stories. Plus I am too much comfortable.'

Jay smiled. She was this way. Unpredictable and adorable. Playing with a lock of her dark hair, he answered.

'It's about me. And I am not asking you to leave, am I?'

Eva glanced at him and then grinned.

'Well, then I am all for it!'

Jaysmiled and started his tale. He was going to tell her the story of his life.....Which changed the course of his life forever...... Right here, at this place.
