After a few hours in the lawn, kicking it off with Dawn, Jay came into his house when she finally had to leave with her parents. Though before departing, she was kind enough to give him a serene kiss on his cheeks, telling him that she would be okay and that she would meet him soon. Jay had too, wrapped his arms around her and hugged her goodbye, the cuddle which had relaxed both of them, he knew. The pain they both felt on separating from each other was something he could see both on her face and inside he felt it too. He had no idea why she had started meaning too much to him.
Dawn had embraced Jay on her way back home and had felt an unidentified anguish stirring in her heart. She knew she can't fall in love with him. It was for his own safety. And loving someone was all about keeping them safe right? She knew there was something wrong with her and the last thing she wanted was for him to end up hurt or worse. She smiled at how much she had begun to care about that angel in her life. Each moment of everyday, all she wanted to be with him, talk to him, be with him.......... After all it had been years since she had been with a guy.
Jay stepped into the drawing room, feeling slightly giddy and a bit overexcited. He sank on the large armchair by the fireplace. Will and Mia sat on the couch across him, Mia sipping a drink casually, giggling, while Will shook his face; a naughty and disapproving look on his features. Mark sat on his knees on the rug at the floor, gazing at Jay transfixed, eyes blank. Jay raised his arms shrugging at the pair of them.
'What is it, guys?'
Mark broke out of his trance, grinning while Mia went into peals of laughter. Will, still scowling, said.
'You people are more serious than I thought!'
Mia nodded, eyes wide trying to look at Jay innocently while Mark's smile deepened. Jay folded his arms over his chest, defiant.
'Look guys! You people know I am not the type to play around with people's feelings. I don't believe in leaving someone once I am into them. Please. Stop all this......'
Will cut through, amusement leaking from his words.
'Hark, who's talking! I did not think you'd ever say that!'
Jay retorted, hardly able to disguise his exasperated tenor.
'Let's get one thing clear. Alright? You guys are right! I do like her. In fact, I think, it's more than that. But please don't torment me about it.'
He noticed how pleading his tone became at the end. Mia stood up and in a flash; she was by his side followed by Mark and Will. She placed a hand on his shoulder, smiling angelically at him. Mark shook his head while Will was grinning. Again. Mia held his hand.
'I am sorry, Jay! We were just kidding. I had no idea you might take it that serious. Sorry!'
Jay pulled her into a bear hug, smile arising to his lips.
'Thanks, Mia. That's what I love about you.'
Mark was still shaking his head as Will clapped Jay on his shoulders.
'I still don't think that's right! Jay?'
Jay rolled his eyes, not answering while Mia pinched Mark on the shoulder.
'Looks like someone else had also taking a liking in Dawn. Poor girl!'
Jay could not help but laugh as Mia grinned and Will slapped Mark on the back.
'Why didn't you tell me?'
Mark shrugged, unsmiling as the joke turned on him and Jay, feeling elated, wished he would have great friends like these forever.

A short distance from them, Dawn sat on her bed, thinking of all that had passed between her and Jay tonight. Smile playing oh her lips, she slowly got rid of the jewellery she wore and then walked to the bathroom to take a warm bath.
