The Sleepwalkers

Chapter 1: Just the Beginning

It was just a normal morning in Austin, today Michael was editing a Rage Quit, Gavin editing a Let’s Play Minecraft, Geoff had already downed a glass of whiskey, Ray’s Applejack figurine had been knocked behind his desk, Jack was sleeping in with Caiti and Ryan had to look after his son this morning. At least no one could confuse him with Jack at the moment. None of them could have ever suspected anything this big to go down, no one had expected what was about to hit them all.

At about 11am on Friday morning, when all of the Achievement Hunter guys had finally come into work, Gavin suddenly felt a cold breeze come in from under the door, odd because it was summer at the moment, “Must have been the air conditioner or something” he thought to himself, immediately disregarding what had happened and back to editing. Michael shivered slightly and looked towards the door as well, “Did you feel that breeze Gav?” Michael asked. Gavin nodded, not even bothering to speak as he was busy on the computer and had his favourite headphones on, backwards.

As the day ended, Ryan left to go back to his son and the rest of the crew went back home for the night, Geoff and Gavin were the only two left in the office. “Wanna get going Gavin?” Geoff said, spinning around on his chair. “Sure, let me save and I’ll grab my stuff” Gavin replied. Driving home, out of the window Gavin noticed a reddish glow in the distance, towards the city, “Hmm, I've never noticed a glow from the city lights before, maybe that’s the new shopping centre or something” Gavin thought, then immediately bumping his forehead on the glass of the window as Geoff went over a pothole. When they arrived back home, Millie ran out in her pyjamas and jumped into her dad’s arms while she waved at Gavin behind Geoff's back. Griffon stood in the doorway smirking and welcomed them inside to warm lasagne.
