Chapter 6: They are coming

Michael ran across the car park to the other building, he picked up a pipe from the dumpster as he ran just in case he runs into anyone who wants trouble. He was kind of glad of his raging because he could summon up the inner demon inside him and kick the living crap out of whatever he could. As he thought of that, a small boy stumbled out from a bush and face planted the ground, boy slowly pushed himself up and revealed a long gash down his leg, he only looked seven years old. “Child or not, he still wants my flesh” and with a swing the small zombie’s head caved in, he crumpled to the ground and twitched only once. Coming up towards the other building he heard Barbara’s scream and a dull thump, increasing his speed Ryan called behind him “Jesus Michael, slow down and think this through!” Michael stopped and turned to Ryan, “She’s my fiancée, I am NOT letting her get eaten!” Ryan then said to him between breaths, “What are you going to do if there is a zombie in there?” Michael held up his pipe and pointed to the dead child behind him. He then turned and began running towards the front door to the Podcast control room’s building, as he veered down the corridor, he watched a small black speaker roll in front of his feet.

The small black object suddenly made a “chhhhh” noise and then spoke one word. “Joel…” it said, Michael was so confused at what was going on that he almost missed the huge bloodied arm swing at him. Joel had taken a swipe at Michael as he stood watching the speaker. He reacted with milliseconds to spare, hitting Joel as the momentum from his grab brought him forward. Michael landed the pipe on the top of his head, knocking the monster to the floor. Another smack from the blunt metal weapon left Joel’s dark brain splattered against the cream walls. The door down the hallway creaked open, Brandon was sticking his head out, “Poor Joel, thanks a bunch Michael” he said with a low voice.
