Chapter twelve

Jacks POV

I can't find Lilly. I went out to 'chick-fil-a' to go get us some lunch and now she is gone. I set the food on the counter and walk around the house.

Living room- nope

Bathroom- nope

Basement- still no

Laundry room- no

Finally I walked upstairs and saw her laying down in my bed asleep. It's 2:30pm. Why is she asleep? I walk over and kneel besides the bed and rub her arm.

"Hey Lil I brought lunch like ya wanted. You gunna wake up?" I said in almost a whisper. She didn't respond but she groaned and rolled over on her other side facing away from me.

I don't understand why she is so tired. We didn't get home that late lat night. And as soon a we came home we went to bed.

Well I guess I'll let her sleep I thought. I walked out of the room and closed the door quietly. Maybe i can ask her about it when she wakes up. I sat on the couch to turn on the tv then as soon as my butt hits the couch the doorbell rings. Ughh.

I get up and open the door to see Nate. I waste no time to tell him he needs to get the fuck away from my house. He ignores me completely.

"Is Lilly here?" He asks.

"Yes but I'm not letting to touch her, see her, hear her, smell her, and your definitely not going to be near her."

"Come on jack that's rude. What did I ever do to her?"

"Well your hurt her and I can tell by the way she clings to me when your around that you make her feel unsafe. Oh and not only did you hurt her but you hurt me!"

"Damn you ever going to get over that? I said sorry geez."

I was starting to get mad so I came outside and close the door behind me. I managed to not yell at him...yet. "No Nate. I'm not going to get over it. We where friends-" I said threw my gritting teeth before Nate interrupted me.

"Where?" He questioned.

"Yes Nate! Where. That's what happens when you nearly kill your best friend! You suddenly by magic aren't friends anymore. Nate you screwed up with this band. We aren't even a band anymore. You tore this band apart. You tore your friendships apart. You tore Lilly apart. You tore everyone's trust apart big time. Nate your nothing but a fuck up now. You got a lot of shit to fix and that's going to take a long time to do. So I suggest you get busy."

I felt a little better saying all of that to him. I could tell by the look on Nate's face that he actually listened and understood.

He nodded his head and looked at the ground. Then he looked back up to me with watering his eyes. "Jack I'm trying. That's why I'm here. I came to apologize to Lilly. And to you but...if you don't wanna talk to me that's fine."

I sighed. Geez now I felt like the idiot. "Aw man Nate I'm sorry. I had no idea. Damn I feel bad now." I scratched the back of my head.

"It's alright Jack. It's no big deal really." There was a moment of silence until Nate spoke again.

"So I'm real sorry about it Jack. I honestly was just in a bad place at the moment and I really fucked up. I should have just gotten over it but I didn't. I made a mistake. The fact that you almost died frightens me. Your my bet friend jack I don't know what I would do if you died." He said sincerely.

I smiled. He meant it. He knew what he did and he knew it was wrong. He did screw up he was right but he was man enough to confront me.

Suddenly the door swung open and Lilly jumped out and hugged Nate. Nate was surprised and didn't know what to do until he hugged her back.

I myself was surprised too. I thought she was asleep. She must have woken up and was listening through the door.

She hugged him for a while then let go and came by me. She also had a smile in her face and when she hugged Nate he got a smile too. I looked over at her and she looked back at me then over at Nate again.

"Thank you Nate." She said. "That's all I needed to hear. Was you apologizing. And not just a "sorry" but a real one. And you did it. I think I can forgive you now."

Nate smiled wider. "Thanks Lilly. But I wanna tell you something too. I'm sorry I hurt you. Again for that matter. I didn't spend time with you and I was making the same mistakes I did when we first got together. I should have been more caring to you. I know you love Jack and I respect that. He is good for you."

Lilly this time teared up. "Nate thank you so much. I defiantly forgive you. You really are trying to make things better."

Nate smiled and nodded. "Well I have to get going guys. I gotta talk with the band manager about all this and see if I can work out something to being this band back together."

Me and lilly waved goodbye and he walked off into his car then me an Lilly headed inside. I think I could begin to trust him a bit and I know Lilly felt the same.

Nate stepped into his car then smiled again. Not a pleasing smile thought. He grabbed a piece of paper and marked off something that seemed like a list. "Earn forgiveness and little trust from Lilly? Done" he said in an evil smile. "I'll have her back in no time."
