I heard the door creaked open, and closing. Heavy foot steps were heard around the house.

"Michael!" Luke yelled, "I'm so glad your here-" then I guess he saw that there is a girl next to Michael.

"I need you to help me find Emma! Please, I don't know where she is!" Luke begged. "I know I am being such a horrible dad to her, but I don't know what I'll do with out her! Please Michael."

I sighed, sitting up with my back towards Luke. I looked at Michael, giving him the look of; I'm going to turn around, Michael nodded.

I turned around.

Luke gasps.

"Emma! Oh my god! What happens to your hair?!" He looked at Michael and glared at him. "MICHAEL!!!" Luke screamed, chasing him around the house.

"Luke!! I thought going to the mall was our bonding time. But she had to come along. You never told me you got a girlfriend. I'm not going to the
mall with you ever again!" I yelled like a small five year old.

"I know, I'm sorry." Luke said fumbling with the sleeves of his flannel.

"Ya betta" ok pout.

"Oh, come on! Don't pout— how do I repay you?" He asked sitting next to me.

"Oh. That's easy! Just get me a lip piercing." I said.

His expression turned dad mode.

"Oh hell no! You aren't getting a piercing until your eighteen—" I cut him off in the middle of his sentence.

"But-" I started.

"No buts young lady," he said sternly.

"I'm leaving." I said running towards the door, pulling it open and sprinted towards the park.

I looked back for a second, and crashed into someone. I made an 'omph' sound.

"Oh, um. I-I'm sorry." I said not looking up, while walking away with my eyes focus on the ground.

"Hey, I know you!" The person who I bumped into yelled, whilst walking over to me.

I looked towards him, and realized that he is one of the guys who Jake used to hangout with— speaking of Jake, where has he been? And– and— Maja!

"You do?" I asked

"Yeah, your the girl who that kid adopted. Right?" He said.

Darn. I thought he knew me for me.

"Yeah," I sighed.

"You alright?" He asked crouching down a bit to my level.

"Yeah," I faked smile.

"So.." He started. I knew it was getting awkward, so I just walked away.

"Okay, then. Bye!" He yelled waving at me.
