I shot up out of my dream, nearly falling out of the bed. Tears stained my cheeks as I breathed heavily. My hand snapped to my neck where the ghoul had bitten me, but I was perfectly fine. The pain seemed so real though.. I looked over when I noticed Kaneki staring at me. He looked really worried.
"Faye, are you okay?" He asked, looking slightly relieved when I nodded. "You were screaming in your sleep. You sounded like you were in a lot of pain."
"It was just.. a bad dream," I sighed.
"I know, I was there. I woke up before you though, and then you started screaming."
I looked down, trying to shake the feeling I still had, but despite my attempt, I started crying again. This feeling is so uncomfortable and frustrating. I couldn't get the images out of my head.
"Let's get ready," he sighed, getting out of bed.
"Huh?"
"You're coming to work with me today. I know you've got the day off, but I don't want you by yourself."
I nodded and slowly got out of bed. I threw on some jeans and a hoodie before walking out the door with Kaneki right behind me.

I'd been sitting around the café while Ken was hard at work. Irimi and Touka were worried as to why I tagged along, but after Ken explained that I had a bad night, they continued on with their day, occasionally engaging in conversation with me.
I went to the back for a moment to get a cup of coffee to calm my nerves. After a nice breather, I felt much better. I can't worry everyone right now. I put a small smile on my face and began my walk back to the lobby. I heard familiar voices as I opened the door.
"..Well, she's still shy around strangers.." the voice said. I would know that kind voice anywhere.
I entered the room to see Ryouko-san and Hinami-chan talking with Kaneki. Hinami looked over my way and gave me a big smile. Ryouko then looked my way, curious as to who her daughter was looking at. "Faye?"
"Ryouko-san! Hinami-chan! It's been so long!" I squealed ecstatically, running over to hug them. "You're both soaking wet! I hadn't noticed it was raining that hard. Ken will you go get some towels?"
"Yes ma'am," he teased, going to fetch the towels.
"Sorry we hadn't visited sooner," Ryouko smiled, embracing me in a loving hug before I turned and hugged Hinami.
"I missed you so much Onee-san!" Hinami laughed.
"I missed you too!"
"I take it you know each other?" Kaneki said, looking a bit confused as he returned and handed them each a towel. I grabbed one and began drying Hinami's hair.
"Yeah! I've known these two since I was like.. Hinami-chan's age!"
I heard a voice from behind us. "Oh! Ryouko-san, Hinami," Touka greeted, swinging around the corner to see what all the commotion was about.
"Hello, Touka-chan," Ryouko greeted.
"The manager is waiting on the second floor. Go on up," she said with a smile. They thanked her and began walking toward the door.
I turned to Touka in surprise. "You knew they were coming? How come I didn't know?"
"Well I just found out this morning. That, and I wanted to surprise you! You look a lot better now," she laughed, ruffling my hair. I laughed with her before turning to Ken, who had been silent for a while.
