Blindsighted

These iron walls, they won't let me be.

Holding me captive by a word called we.

Crossed my arms, prayed to die.

The needle never fit in my eye.

I'm being defiant, don't buy it,

it's not for free.

My scream for help becomes a quiet plea.

"I'm not blind," I mutter.  "But I can't see."

My present, their future,

there is no guarantee.

I gave him my lock,

he handed her his key.

This beating heart, it cost too much.

I'm sorry now, I was in a rush.

If you could even call it such.  

"You are blind," they sighed.  "You still don't see."
