I walk into school and everyone stares at me as I walk down the hall. I wonder if my secret is out, if people know what I'm hiding under this Blue hair and goofy smile. I doubt it. I continue to walk, until I reach the library, I walk into the library and walk around until I find Calum.
"Yo, Calum." I whisper/shout in his direction, making his head snap up.
"I've been here for 15 minutes where were you?!" He spits.
"I was at McDonald's, I was hungry."
"Well next time, eat a bigger dinner." I roll my eyes.
"So why did you want to meet here? Where is Luke?" I I run a hand through my hair and raise an eyebrow.
"I don't know Michael, why don't you call him." He fires back, I am about ready to punch him.
Just as I go to call Luke, he walks up behind me. I look at him and then back at Calum. Calum leads us to a table, towards the back. We sit down and I lean back in the chair, crossing my arms over my chest.
"So, Luke I see you've met Leah. Sweet thing isn't she?"
"Too sweet." Luke adds as I nod in agreement.
"I agree. I also think that you should stick to the fucking plan next time. Why the fuck were you at her house?" Calum raises his voice slightly and Luke shrugs.
"You're taking too long. You could've done this 3 years ago, but you didn't and we are running out of time, Ashton is going to fight back soon and so will his old ass mom. We need to get this over with, so I took matters in to my own hands." He sits up and leans over the table, towards Calum.
"I don't want to rush things, I don't want her to catch on. She's a very smart girl, smarter than she could ever imagine." Calum replies to Luke calmly.
"The big question is... If she's so smart then how does she not know you're gay?" I chuckle and a smirks makes its way on to Luke's face.
"Shut the fuck up Mi-" Calum is interrupted by some books falling off the shelf.
We all rush over to the book shelf and see 'Wuthering Heights', a book that Ashton seems to like. Luke picks it up and Calum runs his hands over his face. I just stand there and look down at the other books, something doesn't seem right. Ashton doesn't show up to school until 5 minutes before first period, we still have 20 minutes. I crouch down and look at the other books. They are all girly books, one of them is even Twilight. I pick up one of the other books and a note falls out.
Dear Ashton,
I am still trying to find a way to tell her about everything. I don't know if now is the right time. I think we should see what happens, if it does get worse then we tell her, but for now we should just wait. Calum knows we are watching him, he won't do anything right now. Luke might, so watch out for him. I got Calum and Kim is watching Mike. Leah will stay safe, I promise. X Sammi
"Hey guys, they're watching us," Calum snatches the note out of my hand. "I think we should do this soon."
"No shit they're watching us, which is exactly why we are going to wait." He smirks. "If I take it slow they might lay off and then 'boom' she's gone, we already got her stupid little friend. It won't be that hard to grab her once they calm down a little." Calum folds up the note and hands it to Luke.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Go! Figure it out!" Calum dismisses us and we both leave
Leah's Pov
It's been a few days since I've talked to Calum and I'm getting worried. I've seen Luke around school a few times, I didn't even know he went to our school. Mike Y seems a bit distant too. I mean I guess it's okay since I've been able to spend more time with Ashton. I've also made some new friends which is also very cool, Kim and Sammi. Kim is very beautiful, very white, pale almost. He has somewhat long dark hair and beautiful green eyes. She's a very petite thing, but she knows how to handle herself. Sammi is also very wonderful and stunning. She has a darker skin tone with beautiful hair, it always looks different. She has beautiful hazelnut colored eyes and she is just full on stunning. They both seem like very brave, confident girls, if I looked like them I would be too.
"Leah, how does this thing work?" Kim picks up my saxophone that I played when I was younger.
"I used to play that, I haven't in years, let me see if I still know how." I grab it out of her hand position my fingers correctly, and then I put my mouth on the mouth piece and begin to play. I'm not as good as I used to be, but I still got it.
"Kim I know that isn't you," Sammi says as she enters the room with Ashton. "Well damn Leah I didn't know you had that kind of talent." She looks at me with disbelief.
"She hasn't played that since she was like twelve. I never knew why you stopped." Ashton looks at me and I shrug. "You were amazing, you always used to play, whenever you could." He goes over to my keyboard and turns it on.
"I'm not really sure myself. I guess I just lost interest in it, I lost interest in a lot of things once I found out I was adopted." Ashton starts to play a song I immediately know what it is and I start to play along on my saxophone.
I remember the reason I wanted to play in the first place. I was 4 and I was watching The Simpson's, Lisa was my favorite character. When I saw her playing the saxophone I just had to learn how to play. When I turned 12 is when I stopped playing, when I found out I was adopted. I haven't been the same since then, neither has Ashton, but I'm happy I have Calum. I finally feel okay again...
