“C’mere,” he murmured from across the loft, my lips twitching in a shy smile.

“I’m reading.” I said equally and heard his petty scoff.

He hummed my name in response to my purposeful innocence of his actions.

I unfolded my legs and rose from my position, my fingers leaving the pages of my favourite book as I met his eyes with a faint smirk.

“Can’t you amuse yourself for the littlest of moments?” I asked pleasantly and sauntered over to the kitchen, hearing his accompanying footsteps.

“Not with a distraction like you only a few steps away from me.” The corners of my mouth curved into a smile as I met his sea blue eyes, ones that had captured me instantly the moment I laid eyes on him.

“It’s raining outside,” he commented and I lifted my eyes to the window, the drops sliding down the glass in graceful patterns.

He knew I loved these days; the days I would be able to sleep-in with him, his arms wrapped around me and whispering stories of our memories. He would always dress me in one of his oversized white shirts, the sleeves having to be rolled up at the sides and the front tucked in slightly into my striped pyjama shorts.

I knew he was watching me as I watched the rain, his eyes taking in every feature of mine and I blushed faintly, having always been shy to his prying eyes.

I had never gotten used to his fame, meeting him for the first time was surreal itself – I had refused to believe it was him at first, amazed that someone as glorified as he would appear out of thin air at a quiet park where you could hide in the shadows of the trees and disappear into your own little world.

His eyes had mesmerized me, catching me off guard and breaking every barrier that I had created to stop these things from happening. I wasn’t one for love, I hadn’t ever been one for love –that was a tale for sorrows but when I met him, things changed quickly.

His voice brought me back to Earth, his sweet voice filling my ears as I turned to see his angelic face in a perfect image of happiness.

“What are you thinking of?” he asked curiously taking an eager step towards me.

I grinned, “You will never know.” I said and took off, my laughter leaving my lips to reach his ears in teases and taunts.

He was after me in a second as I skipped up the wooden steps, my figure swimming in his shirt. He called my name repeatedly as I disappeared into the adjoining rooms, hiding behind the lace curtains as I took soft steps back, sucking on my bottom lip in childish excitement.

I frowned when the loft filled with silence, unsure of where that Irishman had gone as I slipped out of my hiding place and padded across the floorboards, a little frown upon my face.

“Gotcha,” he chuckled as I was swept into his arms and carried towards the unmade bed.

He lowered us into the pit of blankets, losing ourselves in the cotton sheets and fluffy pillows.

“I thought I lost you for a few seconds.” I whispered as he cradled me in his arms.

He grinned toothily at me, “You’ll never lose me.”

I gnawed at my lip again, my heart threatening to melt as I climbed a top him, one of his arms bending back to support his head and the other wrapping around the curve of my waist.

I traced the red emblem of the Ralph Lauren shirt before my fingers danced across the soft material that stretched across his torso and chest.

“So what were you thinking about?” he asked boyishly and I smirked down at him and aligned our bodies.

“That day we first met.” I murmured and rested my chin atop his chest.

He smiled faintly, “The day at the park?” he asked and I nodded as best I could.

A moment of bliss silence passed between us, of the first moments that we shared together and how I had idiotically swore at his live presence.

I wrinkled my nose at the memory, my cheeks reddening again, embarrassed immensely at my naïve reaction to his being.

He cooed my name when I closed my eyes, a small smile on my face as I shook my head and refused to meet his eyes.

His thumb came and brushed a strand of loose hair from my face, tucking it behind my ear before coming back again to stroke the lines of my face, “I love you.” He said quietly and I stiffened not having heard him utter the words before.

I slowly opened my eyes and met his crystal blue ones; at the vulnerability, the hope, the fear, the patience and the love, all threatening to cause me to erupt in tears.

I instantly pulled at him, at every bit I could as I melded my lips with his. A small moan emitted from my lips as I felt his own curl into a smile, his arms enveloping me in his being. When we came up for air, we were both panting softly, his hands cradling my face and thumbs continuously brushing the apple of my cheeks.

“I love you, too.” I whispered and met his lips halfway.
