Twenty Nine.

After a week of having Justin back from the hospital, Aisha's party for Maya was being prepared downstairs. She was setting up while I got showered and Justin kept an eye on the little one in the living room.

From what I'd seen before getting ready, everything was looking good and I was so excited to be around our loved ones again.

I got dressed in a pastel pink dress (to match Maya's pink and white Minnie Mouse inspired dress) and wore a pair of white stilettos and my key necklace. After checking my hair and makeup and putting on some perfume, I headed downstairs to see what I could help out with.

Justin was dressed up and watching Dora the Explorer on the floor with Maya in his lap and Aisha was talking to one of the caterers about the way she wanted the pink and white cupcakes to be displayed.

"Hey, Aisha. Can I help with anything?" I asked her.

"You can just welcome the guests when they show up." She smiled. "I've got everything covered, don't worry."

"Okay." I smiled. "Again, thank you for all of this."

"We're all in need of some positivity." She smiled too.

"And we all get to meet Mr Adam now." I nudged her lightly, making her blush.

"He went all out with the gifts. He loves kids, it turns out."

"Oh he's a keeper."

"He is. Look, I brought up the surrogacy thing to him. I told him everything and... he's supportive." Aisha smiled.

"What? Is Adam even real? I never thought any man would be okay with his woman carrying a baby for someone else."

"Well, he didn't like the idea at first. It was only after I told him... I had to go into depth and now he's willing to let me do this for you and Justin. When you're ready."

"I haven't spoken to Justin about this."

"No rush. I was just letting you know."

I stared at Aisha for a moment then hugged her tight.

"You're heaven sent. I hope you know that." I said.

"Family is really important to me."

"Thank you, Aisha."

"What's all this emotion about?" Justin was standing behind us with Maya asleep in his arms.

"I was just--"

"Thanking me for all of this." Aisha said, cutting me off.

"You did do a great job. I'll give you that." Justin smiled.

"Don't I always? And when can I expect my paycheque?"

"Paycheque? Didn't you offer to do this?"

"I may have but... I need more shoes."

"Go ask Adam for new shoes. Leave my Justin alone." I wrapped my arms around his waist.

"She turns on me so fast." Aisha faked hurt. "And I thought I was heaven sent."

"You are but not when you're milking my man for money."

"Ouch. Well, I'm going to my place to get ready quickly. I'll see you two love birds in about an hour."

"Okay. I'll walk you out." I smiled.

She kissed Maya's forehead and said bye to Justin then headed off.

"Don't you want to go put her down?" I said to Justin when I got back from walking Aisha out.

"Not really." He smiled.
