Brendon's POV

I'm going to beat the shit out of this Jamie Bolton kid. Who the hell does he think he is? Sexually assaulting a teenaged girl, that's illegal. I should be calling the cops, but first I'm gonna beat him to a pulp. I run around the school grounds, searching for him.

I spot him on the football field and I charge at him, tackling him to the ground so I'm sitting on his back. I turn him over and punch him across the jaw. "You bloody asshole! You don't have the right to treat a woman like that, fucking shithead!" I scream as my fist collides with his face again.

"Calm the fuck down, we were only playin' around." Jamie slurs through his already swollen jaw. How can he joke at a time like this?

"Ha ha. OK bud." I laugh dryly and get to my feet, pulling out my phone. I dial the police and wait for the line to pick up.

"Hello, this is the Las Vegas police, how may we help you?" A lady on the other end of the line says.

"My girlfriend was assaulted at school by a kid named Jamie Bolton. I was wondering--" I'm cut off by a body slam to the side, My phone goes flying, somehow ending up on speakerphone in the grass a few feet away.

"I'm gonna kill you!" Jamie yells into my ear.

"Sir, is everything OK? Sir? We're sending police to your phone's location right away." The lady seems panicked probably because she heard the death threat. I kick Jamie off of me and pick up my phone.

"I can take care of this kid until you get here. Thank you so much." I hang up and put my phone away.

"You won't be taking care of anything, Mr. Urie." I hear the familiar voice of my ex principal behind me. Shit. I thought he'd be dead of retired by now, but apparently not.

"I was only protecting my friend, Mr. Stevens." I reply, dusting off my pants and stepping forward.

"Which one of your friends goes here, to my high school?" He asks, scowling at me.

"Her name is Sarah Zeal." I say with enough confidence for both Sarah and myself. Mr. Stevens' eyebrows shoot up in amusement.

"I didn't take you for the pedophile type." He muses. What?

"We aren't together, it isn't like that." I growl. "She's my friend, and there isn't anything I can do to change that, even if I wanted to."

"Interesting. On the phone you said girlfriend, so I assumed . . ." he smiles maliciously. Shit! Did I really? I should be more careful with my words, but I was panicking.

"I meant girl who is a friend. My mistake." Luckily, I'm saved by the sound of police sirens and someone yelling.

"They're back here!" I see a police officer come into view. "Which one of you called the station?" He asks.

"I did. This kid," I point at Jamie, who hasn't moved since Mr. Stevens came. "Assaulted my friend. She's a girl, but not my girlfriend." I stumble out.

"I see." The police officer smirks at my fumbling. "I'll have to take you into the station." He says, addressing Jamie and putting him into handcuffs. "Where is she?" He asks me.

"In my car. I brought her there after this all happened." I say, walking with the officer.

"What's your relationship with her?" He asks, looking at me with an odd sort of expression.

"We're friends, like I said. I met Sarah a couple days ago at one of my shows." I answer. We near my car and I see Sarah hunched up in the passenger seat, crying. I run over to the car and open the door. "Hey, everything is going to be OK. They're taking him into the station." I assure her, rubbing her back.

She nods and straightens up. I wipe away her tears and hug her to me, never wanting to let her go. "Let's save driving for another day." She whispers into my shoulder. I give a short chuckle and so does she. We're gonna get through this.
