Brendon's POV

I'm so glad that everything is going to be OK. Sarah and I are sitting in a small workroom at the back of the police station, snuggled up on the couch across from two police officers.

"Are we OK to leave, now?" Sarah asks, sitting up more. The police officers nod and we all stand to exit. One goes with Sarah out of the room and the other pulls me to the side.

"Can I help you?" I ask, confused. He nods, a look of concern on his face.

"Sarah has been through a lot. When you are a victim of assault, you're at your most vulnerable. I know your game and if you try to play it, it won't end well for you. You following me?" The officer lectures. I cock my brow and cross my arms.

"I'm not that kind of person. I love Sarah, I wouldn't ever try to take advantage of her." I see the face the officer gives me and I rephrase my sentence. "I want to protect Sarah from anything that might bring her harm. She's like a sister to me." Even though it isn't true, I say it. I'm not going to be the one behind bars today.

"Fine. I'll trust you'll take good care of her, Mr. Urie." The officer escorts me out into the foyer to where Sarah is waiting for me. She gives me a questioning look. We walk out to the car and she starts to talk.

"What was that all about?" She asks, looking me in the eye. I shake my head, getting into the car. She joins me, raising her eyebrows.

"Nothing, really. He wanted to make sure you got home safely." Not technically a lie. She nods and leans her head on my shoulder.

"Can I stay with you tonight? I don't want to go home." She asks me. I smile at her and nod, handing her my cellphone so she can call home. She dials and talks into the phone, "Hey mom. I'm not feeling well, I'm just gonna stay at Tanner's tonight. No, can you sign me out tomorrow? Love you too. OK. Bye."

"She's OK with it?" I ask, putting the car in gear.

"Only because she knows that Tanner is gay. If she knew I was with you, she would be worried about you raping me." She sighs. I nod and focus on the road. It seems like everyone is worried about that . . . We get to my house and the look on Sarah's face is priceless. "Holy shit! Your house is huge!" She gapes.

"Yeah." I smile at her with pride. I can't wait to show her around.

Sarah's POV

We get to Brendon's house, and I didn't know my mouth could open so wide. We walk through the door and he yells, "Honey, I'm hoooome!" At first I'm confused but then I hear little feet pattering on the floor. "Bogart!"

A small dog runs at us and jumps into Brendon's arms. "I forgot you had a dog." I say, petting Bogart and arching an eyebrow at the cleanliness. "I underestimated you. I thought you'd be messier."

"I may be dirty, but I keep a clean house." Brendon winks at me and sets Bogart on the ground. "You should see my bedroom. It's a disaster zone." He laughs. I follow him out of the main entrance. "This is the living room, there is the kitchen." He turns and points at a gigantic modern kitchen. He smiles. "You hungry?"

I nod and walk to the fridge. I open it to see it's empty. "Asshole. You offered me food!" I laugh and hop onto the counter.

"I never offered it, I just asked if you were hungry." He laughs back. "I'll order pizza." He continues the tour, climbing the stairs to the bedrooms. "This is my room," he points at a closed door and moves on. "And this is the guest room, unless you want to sleep on the couch." He teases. "The bathroom is connected between the two rooms, so make sure you lock both doors."

"OK. So can I see your room?" I ask, wanting to see his real self. He thinks for a moment and nods, leading me through the bathroom, into his private quarter.

"It's not that messy. I mean I just have a lot of shit, like guitars and stuff." He flops himself on the bed and I look around. He's got a blue theme: blue walls, blue curtains, blue bedsheets. All different shades of blue.

"I love it." I breathe in his scent and sit on the edge of his bed next to him.

"I love you." He smiles. "I know you don't love me yet, and I won't push you. But it's the truth." I'm so awestruck I don't know what to say. I sit, like a fool, watching him with a small smile. I want to say it back, but I can't. Not yet. But I will when I'm ready.
