I walk to the big building at the back of the fenced in area where Leon told us to go for jobs.
I wonder what kind I would get.
I wanted to go out again. I'm not sure why but I did.
So maybe I could go on runs.
Maybe.
I walked into the room and saw Angie and Alex.
Daniel was a little behind me and Michael was coming.
Who even knows what Parker and Mae were doing.
The funny thing was, they hated each other before this.
I sat down beside Alex and smiled.
"Did ya' sleep good? I mean it might be hard between 2 pervs." He chuckled and I punched his arm playfully
"I slept well. Best sleep since the beginning."
I sensed a body plop down on the chair beside me.
I look of to see Daniel fiddling with his fingers.
He wiped some blood off his lip.
"You okay?" Something is wrong and I could tell.
"I'm fine. I'm just nervous about what job I'll get."
I nod and look at the door as Mae, Parker, and Michael walk in.
Michael is looking down and as he slowly looks up at me I see he has a cut around his nose and under his eyes are black.
His nose is broken.
I get up and run over to him.
"Oh my god what happened? are you ok? tell me. is it broken? does it hurt?"
"Cara." He says in a voice that scares me a little
He gives me a look that means 'sit down. I'm not telling you. leave me alone'
I wipe my right eye as I feel tears start to form in it.
I sit down quietly and quickly beside Alex and wait for my job to be told to me.
Leon walks on stage with a Hispanic man beside him.
The Hispanic man has on a muscle shirt and camouflage shorts. His hair is messy.
He seems to be in his 20's and is quite attractive.
"Hey. I'm Jorge." The Hispanic man named Jorge starts.
"I will tell you the jobs and you come pick the ones you want."
"We have a medical assistant, 3 people to go on runs, a pantry assistant, and 2 stock keepers."
I stand up first and the others follow.
Angie becomes the medical assistant since she was a nurse before, Mae, Daniel, and I become the people to go on runs, Michael wanted to go but I didn't want him around me or Daniel, Alex becomes the pantry assistant, and Michael and Parker become the 2 stock keepers.
"The next run will be in 2 hours, but for now stay here and the others with come here. I need the pantry assistant to follow her, Rose" Jorge points to a chubby women in the corner. "The medical assistant can go with him, Dr. Martain" He points to a very skinny old man with glasses "And the 2 stock keepers with me."
