Cara's pov

I flutter my eyes open and feel a sharp pain in my ankle going up through my leg.
"Ughhh" I groan
I look to my right and see Michael smiling a little looking at me.
"We'll look who's awake?" Daniel says walking in the door smirking.
Gavin in walking in after him and he almost runs to me hugging me.
"Oh my god. I was so worried." Gavin whispers in my ear and he lifts up.
I look over at Michael still sitting down with the smile now off his face.
He looks... jealous
Gavin is still by my side touching my hand.
I feel my stomach get queasy at his touch and quickly turn my head to him and he winks, I roll my eyes at his action.
Jorge walks in and asks everyone to leave but Michael and Gavin refuse.
He doesn't try to get them out they won't budge.
"Cara. Look you are really bad hurt and the doctor said you will need crutches. We can't have you going on runs anymore okay? Michael and you can swi-"
"What?! No, I can do it I'll be fine." I cut him off.
"No Cara." Michael starts "You aren't dying on me. We can switch."
I look over at Gavin licks his lips and opens his mouth to say something but just doesn't speak.
I shake my head a sigh.
This is so stupid, or is it?
Whatever I can't change anything.
*10 minutes later*
I limp around the community also know as Grennsvile with Gavin
I look around. Rose bushes are everywhere.
How do they do this? Why?
"You know. When I first got here almost a month ago, my mom was here. She looks exactly like my sister but older with a few wrinkles and some gray hair." He laughs a little. The continues
"She was on the run team. She sprained her ankle like you but walkers got her." He stopped so I did I turned him and he grabbed my hand.
Out of nowhere one of the older men,
James, ran up to us out of breathe.
He had his hands on his knees breathing heavy.
Through breaths he said "Run...Walkers...got in...run."
With that he ran away.
The closet building was pretty far always and I was scared. I thought I was going to die.
I saw maybe 50-75 walkers coming our way.
I heard Gavin curse under his breath then he yelled "RUN CARA!"
I ran as fast as I could with these stupid these Gavin was at least 6 feet away.
He turned around and his eyes got huge he ran back to me and lifted me off my feet.
Why?
I turned around the walkers were getting closer.
He passed the first building.
What is he doing?
He gets to the building with all the weapons.
He puts me at the door and we get in Michael is in there throwing weapons at 15 other people including Mae, Parker, Alex, and Gavin.
"Michael." I said.
"No Cara. Daniel will stay with you."
I looked at Daniel who had a huge cut across his eye.
I looked at Alex who had puffy red eyes.
"Alex.." I started
"My mom."
That's all he said and I knew exactly what he meant. She's gone.
They went out the door and I heard gun shots over and over.
