Chapter 8: Conflicted

Me and Duncan have not been off on the greatest path lately. We are constantly bickering and when we're not doing that, we are trying to eliminate one another. I am thinking I should just call it quits for now.

I walked over to Duncan while he was sitting at the table with Courtney. He gave me a nervous look and I asked if I could talk to him privately. "What do you want now?" Courtney obviously was not comfortable with the idea of me and Duncan alone together. "Just come here". Duncan gave Courtney and apologetic look and walked over to an empty table with me. "Hey... Um, can we not do this anymore?" "What do you mean?" "I don't like you like that". He gave me an angry look but then got up and walked back to his table. That was oddly easier then I thought. I am so conflicted with relationships these days. One minute I want to find the right guy and the next I want to kick them all in the nuts. I don't know what to do anymore, I'm lost and confused. I walked to my secrete spot in the forest and got out my diary. I took a deep breath and began to draw the wild life. It was beautiful. For the first time in being here, I was more relaxed. "Gwen"? I looked up and saw Duncan. "I broke up with Courtney". "W-what?" My face became confused and bewildered. "What about parol"? "I will just have to not get into to trouble from here on out". "That's going to be hard". He laughed and we sat together. I couldn't help but wonder what was going on in that mind of his. "I'm sorry". "That was random". "I have been the biggest jerk to you, I want you to know that we are always going to be friends, no matter how much you don't want to be." "I will always want to be your friend". It was nice not being in a relationship and slowly fixing my friendship with Duncan. After all, we was amazing friends before this stupid season had begun. "What are you drawing?" "Nature". "Your so weird". "Thanks". We sat there for awhile, caught up in each others stairs. It was so peaceful until I heard hell. "So this is why you ended it with me?" An angry Courtney stomped around the corner and paused right in front of Duncan. "We're not dating, if that's what you mean". "Then why would he break up with me?" "Maybe because he doesn't like you". Duncan looked entertained and thrilled to see me and Courtney arguing. "Whatever Courtney, I don't have enough time to play your stupid games. "What do you have time for? Switching between Noah and Duncan? Oh! How about Trent?", she laughed and gave me the stink eye. "What do you want?" "For you to take your whorish paws of of Duncan". "You see, he's not yours. Didn't he break up with you?" Duncan stayed there silently and just watched. "Please, you probably had sex with him for it." "Trust me, I wouldn't. No offense Duncan but I don't want to catch any disease she gave you". "Me? Your the one who has flirted with more guys in this short period of time". I became annoyed and said something I probably shouldn't have said. Even if it was Courtney. "You know what's funny? That whole time you and Duncan was together. After every date you had, he would come over to where I was and we would laugh at how fucking stupid you are. We were a thing when you two were supposedly dating. Your relationship was a sham. The only reason he stayed with you was because he wanted off of parol". I stood there, shocked at what had just came out of my mouth. Duncan looked angry, I didn't know who it was directed at though. "Thanks Gwen", she walked away and I just stood there. "I'm sorry Duncan, I don't know what came over me". "It's okay, I think I'm going to go and cool off. I'm also going to check on Courtney. She may be a bitch but you did just break her heart". "Me? How is it my fault when you dragged her along?" "I don't really want to argue about this right now". He turned around and walked out of the woods. Things was going so well until she showed up. How am I the bad guy?
