Part 12

~~Yugi's POV~~

"I've never seen someone learn how to read in a month! Your a natural Yuki!"

I felt myself blush again. I don't know why he came up with a nick-name for me but every time he used it I would blush.

A month went by so fast. In these couple weeks, I've learned that... I love Atemu. But someone like him won't like a girl- GUY like me. Wait! What am I saying! Even if I do have feelings for him I can't be with him!

Everyone back homes counting on me! They trust me with their lives, I can't just abandon them!

"Are you okay? You seem to be spacing out."

I looked at Atemu, he had a concerned look on his face. I felt my heart melt.

"Yeah I'm fine. Just thinking a lot I guess."

He smiled "Okay, why don't we take a break, I'll get some more food." when he left me in the room by myself I started looking frantically looking for anything about war.

He has to have written something down somewhere. It wasn't long before Atemu came back. I then came across a huge golden box right under the desk.

"What are you doing?" he asked and put the food down on his bed.

"Oh uh. I was just looking for more material to read." I lied.

"Well you won't find anything interesting in there." he walked over and picked up the box. "It's just a bunch of scrolls about war. Nothing you'd be interested in."

I felt myself grin 'If only he knew.' I thought

~~Atemu's POV~~

I never thought I would ever say this... but I... think I love Yuki. Her smile makes me smile, when she laughs I can't help but laugh too. She's so... beautiful.

I want to start courting her but I don't even know how to start. I'll ask Seto sometime tomorrow, but I'll have to make sure nobody from my council over hears. Then they'll start harassing me to ask her to marry me.

 I hope that Yukiko likes me back.

~~Seto's POV~~

"Wow. You actually beat me today puppy~." I teased.

"Shut up. I beat you last week to and a couple days ago!" she yelled as she put away our swords.

Almost everyday for the past month at the end of the day we have a sword fight. I've even been keeping score. So far I've won 16 matches and she's won 14 including the match today.

"Hell I could probably beat all of your best soldiers if I put my mind to it." she laughed "Maybe I should join the army."

I frowned. I didn't like the idea of Serenity (A/N remember that Seto thinks Joey's name is Serenity. Just thought I'd put in a reminder in case people get confused) being going to war. I didn't like the idea of her being in danger. I tried to avoid the subject not only cause I'm not allowed to talk about war with people other than the royal court, but because I don't want her getting ideas.

"I don't think so. The battle field is way different that these little matches we have."

~~Joey's POV~~

I've been bringing up the army a lot to get Seto to talk about it, but he just changes the subject or just tells me it's not a good idea.

If only he knew that I've been in wars and battles before. I'm very aware of how ugly it could get.
