Part 19

~~Atemu's POV~~

Whenever I wasn't at a stupid council meeting I was at Yugi's bedside. They weren't happy about Yugi 'attacking my face with a plate'

They wanted him to be punished and to be thrown in the dungeons but I got up and yelled at them, saying that no such thing would happen as long as I was still breathing.

The rebels and Egypt have come to a truce... for now. Since Yugi's their leader is still unconscious, nothing is for sure yet.

I reached over and grabbed his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze.

"Please wake up Yugi... everyone needs you..." I put my head down "I need you."

"How do you know my name?"

My eyes widened and my head looked up at those amethyst eyes.

"W-What." My voice died. I couldn't believe that he was awake!

"I asked, how did you know my name?" he sat up.

"Be careful! Last time you-"

"Just answer my question." Yugi interrupted me.

"After I took you back to a medical tent... Joey, he said your name." I explained.

"I... I see. You know who I am." He looked away sadly.

Before he could say anything else I grabbed his hand. He looked up at me confused.

"I love you." I blurted out.

His eyes widened and before he could do anything I crashed my lips onto his. It took a couple seconds for him to kiss back. I felt so happy...

finally Yugi was mine, I wasn't going to let anything change that.

~~ A couple weeks later~~ ~~Yugi's POV~~

Seto kissed Joey at the edge of the Nile river at sunset. It was a beautiful wedding ceremony. Only close friends attended the wedding. It was small, simple and perfect for Joey.

Atemu held my hand as we watched how happy they were together.

I couldn't complain, I had the one I was looking for right next to me. We decided to take our relationship slow and didn't want to get married right away but, I could wait a thousand years if I had too.

Problems between Egypt and the rebels weren't completely solved yet but we were making slow progress. We haven't exactly worked it out to where both sides are satisfied yet but I know we'll get there some day.

I gave Joey a thumbs up as Seto dragged him back to the palace. It was quite obvious where they were going (*wink wink nudge nudge*)

"Well little one, are you happy?" Atemu asked me as we danced to the music.

I nodded.

"Very."

"Sir we believe that Egypt has made peace with it's rebels. Are you sure you want to attack now?"

"Damn... I was hoping to join forces with the rebels, but it doesn't matter. I know how to get under the Pharaoh's skin. Even with those puny Rebel's help, Egypt will fall and I will claim it as my own."

"But sir, we're out numbered. How could we possibly win?"

"There's a power burred under the palace... I don't think even the pharaoh knows about it. Once we've obtained it the Pharaoh will be powerless."

"But how do you plan to obtain... this power?"

"Don't worry... I have the perfect plan."
