Part 17

~~Joey's POV~~

"Puppy?" Seto said with wide eyes.

I looked down at the necklace he gave me. It was to late to hide it now... I looked away.

"I know... that there's a lot of stuff you want to say to me, but I-" I was cut off when Seto walked over and pushed his lips onto mine.

It wasn't as romantic as most kisses are, with all of our friends fighting and dying all around us but... I didn't care.

I kissed back.

~~Atemu's POV~~

I got down on my knees.

"Aibou! Please stay with me." I sobbed and cradled his body in my arms. I put my head down on his chest and was surprised to hear a heart beat. It was faint but still there no less.

I could also hear him breathing.

I took off my cape and wrapped it tightly around his wound. I carefully lifted him up and onto my horse.

When I jumped on I heard him moan in pain.

"Don't worry, I'll save you." I whispered in his ear and went as fast as I could to a medic tent that was on the other side of the battle.

When people saw me carrying the white mask, they immediately stopped fighting and just stared at me confused. This made it easier for me to maneuver to the medic tents.

A couple of them were burned down but I was able to find one that was still standing. I jumped off and ran inside.

Isis was hiding under a table in fear.

"My Lord why-"

I interrupted her "Please... help him." I was crying but I didn't care.

"Put him on the table and get out!" she said.

I walked out with my head down. I looked around and saw that everybody stopped fighting and started helping out the injured. People we're even helping put the medic tents back up.

I saw Seto run over to me, with a blond soldier right behind him.

"Care to explain what happened?" Seto said.

"I found the one I was searching for... Mana was right it was him." my voice broke and I put my head in my heads.

"Ra Seto, what have I done."

Seto put an arm on my sholder " I found the one I was looking for as well. His name is Joey." said person got out a horn that was in his belt and blew it.

All of the sudden soldiers started lining up.

"Joey. Is Yugi going to be okay?" an albino soldier said.

"I don't know." Joey said. "But the Pharaoh took him to the healer's tent."

Yugi....His name in Yugi...  I thought.

"Yugi..." his name sounded so... strange coming from my mouth, but at the same time I liked it.

Joey got in a commanding stance. "Yugi has been badly injured. Until then I'm in charge of the rebel army!" he announced.

"And I say that we need to help the wounded! Take them back to the village so that they can get treatment!"

All of them nodded and then spread out.

"He was the leader of the rebellion the whole time..." I said and sat down on the ground, letting that information sink in.

"Yes, we went into the palace to get information and disguised ourselves as female slaves." Joey explain. "Although falling in love and finding my fiance was not what I planned at all."

Seto wrapped an arm around his waist.

I looked at the sand under my feet. Joey sat down next to me.

"Don't worry... Yugi's strong. He'll get threw this." I could tell that he was only saying it to cheer me up.

"It's my fault that he's hurt..." I said sadly.

"You didn't know that it was him. It's not your fault."

"Joey. I think we should give him some time to think about what happen today. Atemu's probably tired and we still need to help clean up." Seto said.

They walked away together hand in hand. I've never seen Seto so happy in his life. I felt more tears coming. I want Yuki- Yugi and I to live happy like that and now because of me. We may never get the chance.

"Pharaoh."

I jumped when I felt someone grab my shoulder. I turned swiftly to see that it was Isis.

"You need rest Pharaoh. I have Yugi in a stable condition. It'll give us at least enough time to get him back to the palace safely." she informed me.

I nodded "Thank you Isis."

She smiled "It's nice to see young love blooming."

I blushed "Yeah, but I still might lose him."

"Just leave it to me and I promise you that everything will turn out okay." she said.

Hours later rebels, Egyptian soldier, and pretty much everyone walked back to the palace broken. War was not a pretty thing. I was placed at the front and all the wounded included Yugi were placed in the back so I wasn't able to see him.

When we walked threw the streets of the towns, all of the towns people watched all of us march. Cheering and chanting my name. They must think that we won.

I didn't say anything or even look up at my people.

Somethings you just can't be proud of.
