Gah! This is infuriating. It feels like I have been pacing for hours, I should have my own personal track by now... My father and the Servile still have not shown up and I am on the brink of exhaustion but I will not sleep, not yet at least. I shouldn't have followed him tonight, my world could still be normal; I could not give a flying flick about some Servile, and I'd still be the proud and naïve daughter my father wants. Ugh. No use living in the past I guess, but they could hurry up, some of us do have school at 8 am. I'm surprised Leighton hasn't gotten up to stick his nose in my business but who am I to complain?

Wait.. do I hear a strange breeze? Are they... or is he, here? I step back a little as I brace myself for my father's arrival. Only seconds later he appears... with the servile in his arms unconscious, her body is limp with her blonde hair framing her face and seems to be peacefully sleeping. He walks past me without even a glance and takes her into my room. I stand tall braced for his fury and await his return not quite knowing what to expect, but expecting the worst. My father comes back out of the room and faces me; I flinch under his scrutinizing eyes but do my best to keep a brave front...

"Well, you got your way, and now may I ask what is your plan oh brilliant, obedient daughter of mine" He says with a sneer.

I glare back at him the fire in my veins starting to rise, "As I tried to tell you at the time, she can stay with us, you can frighten her into silence about what she saw and it will aide us in blending in with the servile society since we are forced to live in it..."

He raises an eyebrow curiously, "That's all well and good, but what happens when you and your brother begin the transformation and have an insatiable blood lust, or when she becomes too brazen to be silenced?"

"I.. I don't know Father." I look up at him hating myself for showing any weakness in such an important argument. Why is this so important to me anyway? I will never know-

"Exactly, you don't know, you think you know everything and what is best but you DO NOT." He cuts off my thoughts and continues... "However, I have already secured an alibi for her scream and my presence at the scene where her mother was "abducted" from... so she must stay here at least until the heat has cooled. I'm sure you are aware of how your brother and the rest of our race will take this, you should also be aware that as a vampire you will have to be strong, and that strength shall begin to build now. With you facing the Responsibility and Betrayal of your actions on your own, you shall be in charge of keeping It quiet, as well as for bearing the consequences of your choices tonight. I will not shelter you from your brother or my peers. Do you understand October?"

I nod and agree "Yes Father". There is some hope for me seeing as my father is not fully a monster and did not destroy the girl along with her mother; even with these terms I am still pleased with myself. I won this battle and am proud.

-A Few Hours Later-

"You have GOT to be kidding me Father, this is surely a joke, even October is not that careless!" I wake to my brother screaming in the hall. "Now Leighton, I am just trying to prepare you for our current situation, do not fret I will not allow her to shame us like your mother." He and my father are right outside my bedroom door, it is much too early for this nonsense I have not been to rest but for 2 hours and now up for school; I can not wait to become a full vampire and rid myself of this nonsense daytime chore. "I will be sure of that, for she is no longer a sister of mine the day she puts a servile over our family name".

My brother stomps off into his room to get dressed for school as I wonder what Father will decide about the servile's schooling. She is unconscious still with her chest barely rising and falling accompanying shallow breaths. My concern is not with her though, she is alive and I have school to prepare for.
