Chapter 23 -

I can hear Leighton moving around in the kitchen, his stirring breaks me out of my peace of mind and I can't help but think that he knows something about what happened to her...

"Hey there brother of mine." I slide into the kitchen sitting at our breakfast bar as he is piddling around the kitchen sipping a cold glass of sustenance. Leighton raises an eyebrow from behind his glass but says nothing. 

"Can I get a swig of that?" Still nothing. This is pointless. 
"Look Leighton, I know you pretty much hate me right now but I want to know what you know about Melanie's recent wherabouts." That got a reaction. Leighton turns on a dime looking at me with eyes burning bright red. 

"You know what October, I do know, everything. But I will tell you nothing. You were just starting to turn around and then you had to go and ruin everything all over again. You don't know how greatly I wish that you had found the little servile skanks' corpse, then I would be rid of both of you! But no, the great hero got there just in time. Father may have given up on you, but I will not turn a blind eye to your disgusting affliction. SHE IS FOOD, SHE IS A WALKING BLOOD BANK, AND YOU ARE A DISGRA-" 

Before he can finish we are on the floor punching, ripping, kicking, all-out brawling. I will end him. I'm not sure who is more fired up but before I can finish him he switches to bat form and gets out from under me. Atleast when he stands in the hallway I can see that I definitely won the fight. Pathetic. 

"Yeah run brother! Walk away and keep your filthy mouth shut!" 
He slams the door to his room shaking the house and I can hear him swearing his revenge. I don't care, not a bit. If he wants to draw the line I will surely abide by it, but let him cross into my territory again; he will not be walking away. Whether I like it or not I am a Vampire, and with that comes a temper, power, and an unwavoring dedication to our cause. My cause is Melanie, and what happened to her will come to light.
