Kylie's P.O.V.

It all happened so quickly, I didn't know until it was over. I just saw it, but didn't feel the pain. It's probably because it happens all the time. But no one knows. Well maybe my mom knows, but she left when I was 3.

I ran into the street. I just ran until I couldn't anymore, then I collapsed. Crying. It was a blur, but I knew there was blood. The snow was a darker color than the snow around me. I just wanted someone to come here and take me away. Anyone, but my father.

"Hey? Are you-oh my gosh." He helped me up. But I sobbed even louder.

"Who did this to you?" he asked.

"No one," I replied

"I'm fine." "Obviously you're not, so who did this? You can trust me. So please, tell me." he told me.

"My father," I sobbed. "He-he beats me. He's always drunk, and-and-and he beat-beats me, everyday. My mom left me-me when I was 3." He carried me to his house, with me sobbing into his shoulder.

It was a blast of heat. His house was so warm "Hello?" someone called.

"Oh my, dear are you alright? Let me get a warm cloth. Now Max, set her down on the couch over there and get her some blankets."

Wow, his family was really nice. They are caring for a complete stranger.

"You know I'm really oka-"

"My dear just lay down. We will take care of you," Max came out and wrapped blankets around me

"Okay dear, now to help me, tell me your name and how you got hurt." she told me.

"Okay," I started to cry.

"My name is Kylie Amelia Taylor and.....,"

I couldn't finish it, I just started to sob.

"Her father, he-he abuses her. He is always drunk and beats her everyday, and her mother left her when she was 3." Max told her. I couldn't thank him, I just cried.

"Oh my, dear. I-I-I am just stunned. Who would do that to a beautiful, young girl?" she said.

Me? Beautiful? She must have bad eyesight.

"Dear, where do you live?"

"Where I live?" I asked.

"Yes dear, where you live?" she asks again.

"Well-well I don't know, we just moved here so I haven't learned the address." I tell her.

"Well, that's okay. By the way, I'm Ivy. Max's mom."

"Nice to meet you, thank you so much for helping me," I tell her.

"No need to thank us! Now what grade are you in and what school do you go too?"

"Um, I think Pea Ridge High School, and 10th grade." I told her.

"Hey! We go to the same school and we're in the same grade!" Max says.

"Good! Now, you know someone who's at your school!" Ivy says with excitement. I guess I could be excited, I mean he is kinda cute.

"Um, I have a small question, where am I going to go? Like, will I stay here or am I going to go?" I really don't want to go back to my father.
