Chapter 14

*McKenzie's POV*

"He's not worth it! My gosh. You know he's texting other girls. Honestly sweetie, he's a jerk! You should just dump him." I tried to comfort Kat. She was dealing with her lacrosse scrub of a boyfriend.

"I don't know what to do!" she cried. I hated seeing her this way.

"Everything has an end. Girlfriend, boyfriend, friend, friendship. Date noodles! They don't have an end!" she laughed so hard she fell off the bed.

"Um is everything alright?" Kat's mom asked all concerned like. She glanced down at Kat.

"Yes Mrs. Martinez!" I told her.

"Okay," she walked out the door.

"Oh my gosh McKenzie! Where did you get that from you couldn't have made it up??!!" said Kat will laughing her head off.

"I have an Instagram and a Tumblr soooooo!"

"BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" 

"Okay girl you need to chill it wasn't even that funny!" I told her trying my best to sound serious.

She finally calmed down. 

"Let's go get something to eat!" I begged her.

"It's 12 in the morning!" she replied. 

"I'm starving!"

I finally convinced her. "Okay fine, but we have to be really quiet." 

"Okay."

As we started to creep quietly down the stairs, BANG! Kat tripped and fell down the last 3 steps.

"Oh my gosh are you okay?" I said laughing. She was laughing too.

"Yeah, I'm fi-" she tried to say before she was cut off by her mom.

"OH MY GOSH ARE YOU OKAY? WHO FELL? IS THERE ANY BLOOD?"

"Mom we are okay! I just tripped." she tried to explain. 

Her mom was really strict. Kat had lost her dad a few years ago due to suicide. He was in the Air Force and experienced traumatizing events. Her brother moved out after her dad died. Leaving her mother extremely stressed out.  Her mom is so over protective. I understand though. She just doesn't want to lose her daughter.

"Be careful. You scared the crap out of me." she yelled.

"Okay, I will."

Her mom walked up stairs saying nothing. 

After we had reached the downstairs kitchen she said, "Okay, grab all the food you want. I'm going to grab some backpacks, and some clothes. I'll be back. Don't be loud."

"Um Kat what are we doing?" I asked her, I had no idea what was going on. But she just ran upstairs.

I did what she said. I grabbed 4 water bottles. A box of granola bars. Some popcorn. (Obvi popped duhhh) Some apples, and some candy because I loved candy.

"Okay, I got our stuff, here hold this." she said while handing me a wad of cash.

"Um Kat! Where did you get this!?" I whisper-screamed.

"Shhhh. It's all mine. We're sneaking out. I'd call it... an adventure!" Kat was obviously very excited. I was too. I guess.

I just nodded on reply. 

It took us about 30 minutes to prepare. We grabbed our phones and chargers (who knows where the next outlet will be!)

"Are you ready?" she asked.

"Yep! First stop MCDONALDS! I really want a breakfast burrito, some orange juice and an iced mocha." I said in reply.

Quietly, we had gone out the back door. Making no sound at all. I was excited and scared!
