Two friends years ago
Had found each other
But neither were lost.
A tune they began to hum
It became a song.
A song only for them and the ones who care to listen
Time had past, the song still strong
Until one friend was seized away,
But they still sang their song.
Soon after the melody began to shrink
Days past, till only a whisper was heard
Then there was no sound, only a eternal rest
That's all what was left of the song once sung
The seized felt empty inside
Sadness, pain and suffering was all that was left behind
Of the remembered song
It was sung again at the strength it once was,
But a duet it was not, only a solo for one.
The seized found her way back to her not forgotten friend
Yet she soon found that her fate was the same
Sadness, pain and suffering was all friend found.
The once seized now free, sang as loudly as she could,
Only to be told to stop by the one who the song was for.
Now she tries a different song she sees the talks of liquid velvet.
Her songs only solos, nothing more,
Then hope of singing with friend
No longer beaten and sore.
To lead her home again from the war already won.
Yet friend finds her way lost again and again
Only to find battles of ghosts.
That had once sung a song for their friends
That they wish had been a duet.
