8 years. 8 long and blissful years together. There were bumps and curves along the way, but they managed to surpass each and every one of them which had made them stronger than ever.
Alden always knew that Maine is the one. They belonged to each other. God has put them together. And what God had put together, no man shall break it apart.
Matagal nang plano ni Alden ang mag propose ng kasal kay Maine. Matagal na siyang nakapagpaalam sa tatay at nanay ni Meng, but whenever he would pop the question, para bang may pumipigil. It's like someone's saying na it's not yet the right time.
Today was Aldub's 9th anniversary. Syempre, bongga na naman ang happening. They still can't believe that the accidental love team they once thought wouldn't become a hit, but now here they are, dubbed as the Most Phenomenal Love Team of All Times.
"Paps! Mukhang malalim iniisip natin diyan ah," Sam greeted Alden as soon as he stepped inside the hosts lounge and saw his friend seemingly lost in his thoughts.
"Paps, feeling ko eto na yung tamang panahon," Alden muttered under his breath. Kinapa niya yung left pockets ng pants niya at nilabas yung box ng ring na binili niya for Maine.
He bought the ring last year. Yes, last year niya pa dala dala yung singsing. Last year pa siya nakapagpaalam sa family ni Maine. Last year pa alam ng Dad at mga kapatid niya. Pero he just can't ask the words. He tried, Lord knows how much he tried to ask her the questions pero siguro hindi pa talaga tamang panahon para dun.
"What do you me--" Sam YG didn't finish his sentence when he realized what Alden was talking about. His eyes widened as he smiled goofily at his friend.
"Here, paps?" Sam asked.
"Yeah," Alden nodded as he gazed at the ring settled at the center of the box. It was just a simple princess cut diamond ring because it describes his Maine perfectly, simple.
"Ay, putek. As in dito ka magpo-propose, paps? On live TV?"
"Oo, paps. Sure na ako dito. And it's more fitting kasi this day 9 years ago nag krus ulit yung landas namin after the Candy Fair. It just feels right, paps. Eto na talaga." Alden said, sounding sure of himself.
"Wow, paps!" Sam said. "Pero teka, alam na ba to nila Ms. Jenny? Kasi diba may storyline na susundan ang kalyeserye today?"
"Hindi pa nga eh. Pero teka, paps, wag ka maingay sa iba ha. Ikaw palang nakakaalam tsaka sila dad."
"Kaya pala present si daddy bae at sister bae," Sam snickered but raised his right palm and gestured to zip his lips. "Promise, paps, di ako mag iingay. Kahit sobrang tempting na ilaglag ka sa ATM di ko muna gagawin. Siguro bukas nalang," he added with a contagious laugh.
"Sira ka talaga. Sige, i-orient ko na muna si Ms. Jenny." Alden laughed as he waved goodbye.

9th anniversary. 9th anniversary. 9th anniversary. Maine kept repeating those words inside her head. Up until now, di pa rin siya makapaniwala na tumagal ng 9 years ang ALDUB. Words can't even express how overwhelmed she is. Words can't even describe how thankful she is to those people who stood beside her and Alden from the very beginning up to this point.
"Meng, ready ka na?" Maine glanced at her side and smiled fondly seeing her Kuya Wally smiling ever so brightly.
"Oo naman, kuya. Ako pa ba?"
"Happy anniversary sainyo, Yaya Dub." Wally said, channeling his Lola Nidora's voice. "Parang kailan lang noh?"
"Salamat, lola..." She laughed. "Oo nga, kuya, eh. Di pa rin ako makapaniwala. Sobrang blessed talaga natin."
