Maine smiled as soon as she saw RJ's text message for her. It has always been like that. It is his message she first sees when she opens her eyes in the morning and it's still his message she sees last before going to sleep.

She wrote a quick reply to him and got up from her bed. It is a big day today.

EatBulaga decided to throw Pauleen a bridal shower and Bossing a bachelor's party. And today is also the day where Alden would play an instrument he learned for Yaya Dub's first condition.

Maine was skeptical about it at first. She knew how hard it is to learn how to play a musical instrument. She doubted that Alden would learn in just a span of five or six days. So she's not expecting at all. And besides, Alden's schedule is jam packed from sun up to sun down. He doesn't even have rest time for himself, how much more to practice for a musical instrument?

"Ate, may idea ka ba kung anong instrument pinag-aralan ni kuya Alden?" Dean, her younger brother, asked just as they were getting inside the van that would take her to the studio.

"Ayaw nila sabihin sakin eh. Pero lately kasi, ukulele palaging dala ni Alden tsaka palagi syang tumutugtog ng very slight pag break. So feeling ko ukulele pinag aralan ni Alden"

"Pero serious mode tayo ate.." Dean said as he scooted closer to his sister and practically whispered directly in Maine's ear, not wanting everyone else around them to hear what they are talking about..

"Ano na naman yan, Dean? Kinakabahan ako sa mga ganyan ganyan mo eh," Maine laughed but listened to her brother nonetheless.

"Si Yaya Dub lang ba ang nagbigay ng kundisyon o sabay na dun yung kay Maine Mendoza? Narinig ko kasi sila ate Pat nun na ikaw daw bahala sa mga kundisyon ni Yaya Dub para kay Alden eh"

Except for Coleen, Dean has always been the one she's closest to. And even more so now that they're sharing her condo unit when they're away from their home. And Dean is also the one she's comfortable sharing her thoughts with. And Dean is also the one who talks her down when she's doubting Alden.

"Ayun na nga," Maine sighed. "Alam mo naman kung gaano ako ka moody at kakulit diba? And wala pang nakakatagal sakin. Maski nga kayo ni Coleen nilalayasan ako pag sobra na. And to top it all that, ang haba haba ng pasensya nyong dalawa. So I guess this is for me, as Maine, to see if RJ is really patient enough to stand me. Kasi alam mo yun, parang feeling ko tinitiis nalang ni Alden lahat kahit ayaw na nya," Maine mumbled the last words, her pessimistic self taking over again.

"Hay nako, ate. Basta ako, alam ko at nakikita ko ang totoo. Si kuya Alden na ang gold standard para sa pagiging perfect boyfriend. Ewan ko ba sayo, palaging nega iniisip mo. Ilang beses na kaya napatunayan ni kuya Alden sarili nya. Kung babae lang talaga ako, matagal ko nang inagaw yan sayo, ate." Dean joked as he straightened in his seat and scrolled his music library on his phone.

"Sira," she mumbled. But she heard what Dean had said loud and clear. Her heart knew what it really is. But her pessimistic mind just dwells on the negative side of things.

"Pero aminin mi ate, excited kang makita si kuya Alden tumugtog," Dean teased once again, not contented with his earlier teasings.

"Oo naman no," Maine confirmed as a wide smile appeared on her face as she composed a message for RJ.

Good luck mamaya! See you ☺️

Alden just finished playing the ukulee in the tune of Thinking Out Loud and to say that she was impressed was an understatement.

She can't help but to steal glances at him every now and then and just admire him while he was concentrating playing ukulele for her.

She knew that if her eyes were capable of really conveying what she was feeling, it would just pour out little hearts as she was overwhelmed with love for him. Yes, she loves him. She's just still afraid of the uncertainty of what might happen.

"Meron pang isa," Alden said.

She was clueless. Isa?

"Hindi lang ukelele ang inaral ko para sayo," he said as he assisted her to stand up and made their way to the keyboards.

"Inaral ko din tong keyboards," he said as he seated her next to where he should seat. His heart beating wildly inside his chest as he checks her reaction.

"Ready?" He asked, staring directly at her. And when she smiled at him and nods her head, he knew he was ready as well.

Maine was clueless as first as to what song he was going to play. But then he hit the second note and then the third. And that's when it dawned on her. He is playing Stay With Me.

He keeps on stealing glances at her and she keeps on looking at him. She can't believe that he would extend this much effort just to prove to her that he's really serious.

Maine feels like she's the most important girl in the world. Right this instance. With Alden playing the keyboards he learned just for her. And she looked at him and their eyes collided just for a second, she sighed. It seemed as if her world stopped and everything else faded into the background except for her and RJ.

Wala na. End point na. You are for keeps, RJ. And I plan to keep you forever.

Maine felt the remaining of her walls came crumbling down and she didn't do anything to prevent it. She knew right from the start that this is where she was heading. She was fighting it then but she's ready now. And she had fully accepted it.

I love you.

Her heart and mind screamed. She's sure of it now. No more pessimistic notions about them.

Alden sang the last lines of the song, sans the Singing Baes, as he looked straight into her eyes. His eyes full of love, longing, adoration and pride as he stared right through her. Pouring out his heart, his tue intention for her in front of thousands of people watching them.

And that was then that she fell deeper. Deeper than she had planned and she had no intentions of climbing back up.
