Laney:

I looked at my pale stomach as I put on my bikini. I let out a huge sigh and walked out of the bathroom. Niall was looking down at his feet that still had his red supras on them. I rolled my eyes and let out a light chuckle. He looked up and smiled. My dress was folded neatly in my hands and my less public wear was tucked inside. “Can I put these in your car?” he nodded and we walked back to his BMW. I watched him pull his tshirt over his head and throw it into the back seat. I laid my things on my seat and asked him if he had sunscreen. He popped the trunk and pulled out a light blue bottle. He applied it to himself and then handed it to me. I got everywhere but I couldn’t seem to reach my back.

“Uhm, Niall?” his eyebrows raised and his lips formed the word “yes?” I pulled my hair over one shoulder and handed him the sunscreen. “Could you do my back?” A cheeky grin slid onto his face as he told me to turn around. His hands were big, but they were soft. He massaged the sunscreen into my skin on my back and shoulders. “Did you get your lower back?” He asked, his hands still on my shoulders. I bit my bottom lip. “No” I lied. His hand trailed down my spine and he rubbed more sunscreen onto my back just above my bathing suit bottom.

“Done.” He said after a few minutes. I turned around and he handed me the sunscreen again. “Now can you do mine?” he asked letting his bottom lip fall into a pout. I nodded and walked around him. His back was pale and strong. I managed to massage lotion into his entire back and over his shoulders. I threw the sunscreen back in the trunk and held out my hand, hoping he would grab it.

Instead he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. I was holding the beach blanket and he had the towels. He ran down to the sand, clearly getting looks. I was cracking up over his shoulder, screaming every so often.

“Throw the blanket down!” I did as he said and he smoothed it out as much as he could with his feet. He dropped the towels to one corner and flopped down on his butt. He pulled me into his lap and I accidently head butted him. I wasn’t helping his assumption of me being clumsy.

He grabbed his head in his hands and massaged his temples “ouch.” I turned to face him, still on his lap and asked if he was okay. He nodded and opened his mouth to speak. His teeth were so cute. “It just hurts a little is all, you’ve got a hard head.” I laughed a little, I was quite embarrassed. Then I got an idea. “Where does it hurt? I’ll kiss it better.” I watched as a smile creeped along his lips. He pointed to his forehead “here.” I gave him a soft kiss on his forehead and pulled away. “Here too” he said pointing to a spot right above his right eyebrow. I gave him another soft kiss. “Anywhere else?” I asked. My hands were on his shoulders and I was watching his eyes. He nodded and pointed to his lips “here.” I rolled my eyes and leaned in to give him a kiss. Just as I did a seagull landed on the blanket. He tried to get up but I was on top of him so he couldn’t. I stood up and tried to shoo the bird away. He got up and walked to the other side of the blanket. Finally the bird flew away and I realized I missed my chance to kiss him again.

He picked me up bridal style and started to run toward the water. I wrapped my arms around his neck, unsure of what to do. When his feet hit the water I heard him let out a high pitched “ooh.” The sun was beating down on me and it was hot. I wanted to feel the cold water on my body. “Put me down! I want to swim!” I said shaking my legs. He laughed and set me to the ground. He wrapped his fingers around mine and we just stood like that at the shoreline holding hands for the longest time.

He let go of my hand and I watched him run into a wave. It swallowed him and he came up with his blonde hair flattened over his eyes. I walked over to where he was bobbing and carelessly let him throw me onto his back. He swam with me on his back for a while and we talked about nothing in particular. I could do that with him, just talk. As we walked onto the shore he scratched the back of his neck. His voice was low and he didn’t look at me like he usually did when he had something to say. We reached the towels and the words finally slipped from his mouth. As I wrapped myself in my pink towel the words “I’m going back to London tomorrow” stung my ears. I felt my jaw drop and he turned to face me with his towel tied around his waist. I stood on my tip toes, cupped his face in my hands that were still holding my towel, and let my lips crash into his.

Seconds later I pulled away nervous of his reaction. “Sorry” I murmured as we started back to the car. I watched a smile crawl across his lips as he opened my door for me. “For what?” he asked throwing the blanket into the trunk. I grabbed my phone out of his glove box and typed in my code. “Complicating things I guess.” He climbed in next to me and put a hand on my bare knee. “You haven’t complicated anything babe, promise.”

As we drove home he asked me again who the picture on my phone was. I shrugged him off again changing the subject. “So, I can’t text you once you’re back home.” His shining blue eyes locked with mine. “Why not?” He asked letting his lips fall into a pout. “Well, international text rates are way too expensive.” He nodded “right” he said tapping his fingers on the wheel. We drove past the gas station that Riley worked at and that meant we were close to home. “We can skype, I mean if you want to.” He said turning onto my street. He drove painfully slow as we passed each house. We came up on mine and he turned to me. I could tell he caught me smiling because he patted my knee and told me he’d text me his skype name as soon as he got back to the hotel. I agreed to add him and got out of the car. Grabbing my stuff I walked up to the front door and let myself in. I ran straight to my room and watched out my window as his silver BMW drove away.
