Niall:
I pulled into the parking lot of the hotel and walked up to my room. My things were packed up and my suitcases were against a wall by the door. I pulled off my shirt and realized I was still in my swimsuit. I walked to the bathroom and dropped my trunks to the floor. I still had no shoes on from the beach, so I started the shower and climbed in. I scrubbed the sand out of my hair and off of my skin. All I could think about was how I would keep contact with Laney.
Once I got out of the shower I pulled a pair of boxers over my legs and grabbed my phone off the bed. I scrolled through twitter and remembered I was supposed to text Laney my skype name. I looked at the time, it was only 10. My thumbs hovered over my keyboard as I typed her a message.
Niall:
Don’t laugh. It’s Mullingar_pimp13
Laney:
LOL! You are too cute!
Niall:
Well then…
Laney:
Goodnight, Ni ;)
I could feel my cheeks get red after reading her text. Just as I was about to reply Josh led Paul into my room.
“Keys?” Paul had his hand extended in front of him and I walked over to the dresser. I picked up my keys and dropped them into his hand. The two of them left and I decided to call it an early night. I tucked my phone under my pillow plugged into the wall and fell asleep.
When I woke up I knew it was time to go. I pulled on a pair of basketball shorts and a plain t shirt and started dragging my luggage down to the tour bus. It was early. The Las Angeles air was still cool and there was a breeze coming off the water. I got onto the tour bus and took a seat beside Liam.
“Niall! I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever!” He reached over and gave me an awkward side hug. I tried to hug back but it failed on account of my position. He pulled away as the bus started to move. Zayn flopped down next to me and was asleep on my shoulder within two minutes.
We got to the airport about an hour later and as we checked our bags I felt my phone buzz against my thigh.
Laney:
Have a safe trip home ya crazy.
Niall:
Alright! I’ll skype you when I get home!
I tried not to sound too excited but it didn’t work. Louis must’ve caught me smiling because I felt his hand on my shoulder and his other hand was grabbing at my phone.
“Who is she?” He had a cheeky grin on his face. I pulled my phone away and tucked it in my pocket. “No one, I’m just excited to go home.” Seconds later Liam was in front of me shaking his head. “We can tell you’re lying, mate. Who is she?” I rubbed the back of my neck anxiously.
I wasn’t even sure of what to say. Laney knew who I was at the theater, I didn’t even have to say my name. She didn’t go crazy or anything, ever. She was so real and genuine. I wasn’t even quite sure how I felt about her, let alone how she felt about me. I mean, yeah I kissed her. Well, technically she kissed me but whatever. It only happened once. I could still feel her soft, warm lips on mine. I could feel the chills returning to my spine. Everyone was staring at me.
“She’s just a girl I met at the movie theater. She’s just telling me to get home safe, that’s all.” Simultaneously they all rolled their eyes and we boarded the plane.
The boys wanted to hear about Laney, but I wanted to keep her my secret. They knew I met her at the cinema and that’s all. I closed my eyes and rested my head against the window. I’d left my phone in my suitcase because I knew they’d do something sneaky. Feeling completely free of their nagging, I went to sleep.
