We All Fall Down

      I jump up and turn around to see the man that was attacking us earlier along with the female that jumped out of the bushes.

      Slowly, I back up to where Marcus and Sarah is, trying not to make any sudden moves that would cause the killers to lash out.

      "Pocket full of posies," the women says and smiles, exposing her yellow teeth.

      "Run," Sarah whispers from behind me and we all turn and start to run.

      I can feel the women's breath on the back of my neck, and her shoes on the back of my heels. Desperately, I turn into a clearing, trying to trick her and get her off of Marcus and Sarah's trail at the same time.

      I turn around to see if she is still following me, which she is. I try to move my legs faster, but instead they slow down.

      As my legs slow down, hers speed up. She jumps onto me and I fall to the ground. Soon, she is lying on top of my stomach, knife clenched in her fist, ready to stab me.

      I look into the women's eyes, looking for some type of weakness, when I realize that I have cameras in my eyes. They want to see this, I think to myself, so I close my eyes. If I'm going to die then I'm not going to let them watch.

      Nothing happens for a moment, so I open my eyes and find that she is just sitting there ready to stab me, waiting as if something or someone told her not to. She looks at me once I open my eyes and then raises the knife above her head. She starts to bring it down and I start to panic, so I close my eyes again.

      When nothing happens again I realize that they can't attack us when our eyes are closed. I close my eyes, tight as possible, making sure that the camera can't see through my eyelids, that they will only see black.

      How am I going to get out of this? I wonder, but then stop when I hear Marcus's voice.

      "Over here," Marcus's voice says to my left. "Come and get me," he taunts.

      "What are you doing?" I scream at him, making sure to keep my eyes shut tight.

      "Trying to save you," he responds before taunting the women again. "Come and get me!"

      I open my eyes as the women jumps off of me and starts to run towards Marcus.

      "Over here!" Sarah calls from my right, waving her arms back and forth above her head.

      I get up and realize that they are trying to confuse the women, so I decide to join in. I run over to a tree that is diagonal from where I was just lying. "Come on," I scream at the woman, who is now darting back and forth, trying to decide who to attack first.

      "They can't attack you if you're eyes are closed," I shout to them so that if any of us is attacked, that we will survive.

      "Wha-," Marcus starts, but stops when we hear someone scream from not far away. The scream is long, and the voice sounds like it is coming from a young boy.

      As the kid screams, I look over to the women with a knife and see that she is also distracted, and so I waste no time. I pick up a large, thick, stick that is laying about ten feet away, and run towards the women.

      As I get about three feet away I swing back the stick and bring it forward on the women's face. The impact is so strong that I almost fall to the ground.

      The woman does not scream as I thought she would, instead she sits on her knees and clutches her face for a moment before getting back up. Panicking, I close my eyes and hit her in the head again, and this time she stays down.

      "Is she dead?" Sarah asks me as she and Marcus walk up to me.

      "I don't know," I say and look at her chest, which is now still, just like Sophia's was. "Yea, I guess she is."
