I wake up and see the sky above, bright and blue with big puffy looking clouds. The air is fresh and smells like newly cut grass.
I allow my head to fall to the left, giving me a view of Tara and Marcus picking berries off of a big bush. I don't say anything; instead I look to my right and see the building that I lived in my whole life.
I start to panic, afraid that someone will see us and we will be taken back. Slowly, I get up, but lay back down when I get a headache worse than any other headache I have ever experienced before.
"Hey, you're awake," Marcus says.
"About time, you've been out since last night, we had to fight at least twenty other guards, but luckily we got the guns from the first six that we took out and we just shot all of them with those, and it did not look pleasant," she says and looks at me. "How are you feeling?"
"Like I just got shot with a stun laser and then got hit in the head with a gun," I say and Tara and Marcus look at each other like they are trying to hide something. "What?" I ask.
"While you were out one of the guards almost got you and in order to keep you knocked out they hit you over the head with a gun while we were fighting the other guards," Marcus responds.
"Oh, well that explains it," I say and try to get up again, my headache getting worse as I do, but I just ignore it. "We need to get further away than this," I say, holding my head.
"I think I can help with that," a familiar voice says, and I turn to see Dr. Hale sitting in a gray minivan, smiling.
I walk over to the car and get in the front seat, Marcus following me, sitting in the seat behind me.
"Who is this?" Tara asks, looking skeptical.
"We can trust him," I say to her, and she gets in, still looking wary of Dr. Hale.
"Okay, but if he does anything to make me feel like he is dangerous then I will not hesitate to kill him," she says.
"Okay, where are we going Dr. Hale?" I ask him.
"We are going to go to a safe house, I saved at least forty of test subjects like you, but they were always in secret, so we need to be extra careful not to leave any trail because if we do then they will follow us and none of you guys will be safe," he says and starts the car.
"Okay, let's go. How far away is it?" I ask him.
"A couple of hours, so I would get comfy, take a nap or something. I will wake you guys if anything comes up, or when we get there," he says and smiles to us. "Don't worry, you are safe now," he says.
"Thank you," I say to him and go to sleep, surprisingly still tired even though I just slept.

I wake up to Dr. Hale's voice, "We are here," he says and I feel the car stop.
I look outside of the window in front of the car and see a very small building that looks big enough for about four people to stand in.
"That's the safe house?" I ask, "It's tiny," I continue.
"Yea, it goes into the sewers and into a mountain that they made, it has eleven escape tunnels and a lot of fire arms," Dr. Hale says.
"Okay, well let's go in," Tara says, and we all get out of the car and walk into the front door.
