File this one under: 1) I-don't-know-why-my-brain-goes-to-these-places and 2) a severe case of Overkills angst

Content alert: Intense, grim speculation about the possible link between Scarlet and Herb and Lucy Wilde.

After Felonius Gru stole the crown, the Overkills are arrested and placed in separate maximum security prisons. With the promise of an early release if she's a model prisoner, Scarlet stays put.

It takes Scarlet ten long, grueling years to engineer (through bribes and other underhanded means) an unofficial conjugal visit. But the guard only allows them fifteen-minutes together. Scarlet and Herb have hot, rough, quick sex. After a teary, angst-filled farewell, they're then sent back to their respective cells.

Nine months later, Scarlet gives birth to a daughter. Because of her legal status, the baby is taken away and given up for adoption. The baby grows up to become Lucy Wilde. As we know, she becomes an Anti-Villain League Agent.

As soon as she recovers from the birth, Scarlet channels her extreme grief and rage into breaking out of prison. After breaking out Herb, they begin a decades-long search for their daughter. Herb becomes an expert hacker in order to find and trace the adoption and other relevant records. Because of Lucy's classified status as an AVL agent, it's not easy, even for a super genius like Herb.

Scarlet and Herb eventually discover not only where Lucy lives, but also that she's married to Felonius Gru. Scarlet goes ballistic, but is now far too old to consider any kind of retaliation or revenge. The Overkills pay Lucy a visit and the three have a bittersweet reunion.

And now for something completely different.

I imagine this little scene would take place after Scarlet and Herb become partners and lovers, but before they move in together.

The clock had barely struck one a.m. when there came a knock on the door of Herb's loft. He glanced up from the blueprint he'd been sketching. Who in the world could it be? Since he'd started working exclusively for Scarlet, he'd stopped accepting business appointments from anyone else. Villains tended to be a nocturnal sort, which had worked out given he didn't require much sleep, but now he spent most nights working on projects for Scarlet. Maybe someone hadn't gotten the memo that he was off the market.

The knocking came again, louder and harder this time. Maybe someone was in trouble and needed a quick invention intervention. More money for Scarlet certainly couldn't hurt. He'd see what the mysterious visitor wanted. Herb tossed down his pencil and ambled to the door.

He swung open the door, only to find none other than Scarlet herself on his doorstep. Herb grinned, noting the cute black top and miniskirt she wore. And also her shapely legs, ones he never tired of looking at. "Hey. You're up late." When Scarlet wasn't on a heist, she tended to concentrate on getting plenty of sleep. Not that she needed beauty sleep to be beautiful.

She looked up at him. "You busy?"

Herb stepped aside so she could enter. "Uh, that depends." He gestured to his worktable. "I've been working on a project for you." He rubbed the back of his head. "Do you think I'm busy?"

Scarlet's gaze swept around his loft and then returned to his face. "I think you need a break."

Herb blinked in surprise as Scarlet began nudging him toward the nearest wall. "Sounds groov—whoa!"

Scarlet's hands were at his belt buckle and undoing his jeans in record time. It took his cock about half that time to harden in response to her touch. "This is a nice surprise," he rumbled. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
