Seems the story is that Scarlet, Lucy's mom or friend, sets out to rescue Lucy from El Macho.
There's clearly a close relationship of some kind between Scarlet and Lucy.
This amv places Scarlet & Lucy center stage & pits them against the male villain. & they win! Scarlet saves Lucy!
It gives Scarlet & Lucy agency and prominence. I. LOVE. THIS. SO. HARD.
This amv shows how to more progressively position the Despicable Me female characters.
At the very least, it subverts the damsel in distress trope
The recombined footage makes Scarlet a more powerful woman & a hero. Great stuff!
It also places a strong emphasis on female bonds/friendships, which is wonderful!
Plus, it's in strong alignment with all the Scarlet Overkill fic being written.
Scarlet fanfic & this Scarlucy amv are the types of #DespicableMe films that I'd love to see.
I'm grateful for & in awe of how Scarlet Overkill fan projects are expanding her character.
