One cool thing about the Overkills is they make everything exciting, even the most mundane activities. Seriously, I would watch them doing anything—anything—in a film. Below are a few ideas I have for Overkills movies. These would be free of conflict or any negative events/threats. In fact, the fluffier the film, the better!
Vacation – The Overkills go on vacation. Beach resort, hiking, skiing, tropical getaway—it's all good! Picture them swimming, going out to dinner, dancing, and gazing into each other's eyes while sipping fancy cocktails. If they went hiking, Herb would probably get sore all over and Scarlet could give him a full body massage after they returned to the hotel.
Shopping Spree – Two hours of the Overkills going shopping. Any kind of shopping: groceries, inventing supplies, shoes, toilet paper—heck, who cares what they buy, it's Scarlet & Herb!
Paint Job – Scarlet and Herb repaint their castle. They get pretty messy and have to take a hot bath—together, of course—to clean off. Or...or...ooh, I've got a groovy idea! A movie about the Overkills watching paint dry. Maybe they have a contest to see who can go the longest without blinking. Herb loses, the end.
Picnic Party – The Overkills go on a picnic. They'd bring a humongous basket (probably way more food than they can possibly eat because overkill). Think of all the yummy food they'd enjoy. They're rich, so they can afford the fancy gourmet stuff. Maybe they find a hill overlooking London and could even see their castle while they ate. Herb would feed Scarlet delicious foods and she would lick his fingers clean. Ahem, did I say that out loud?
Gardening Day – Scarlet & Herb plant flowers or a garden in their yard. Scarlet would wear the most fabulous hat and I bet they'd wear color coordinated outfits. Then we'd get to see what kind of gardening gloves they'd wear. I'd like quite a few close ups on those gloves, please, thank you Ms. Director.
Arts & Crafts – The Overkills take an art class. Or maybe they go to one of those paint-your-own-pottery stores (not sure if they had them in the 60s but whatevs!).
Amusement Park Fun (hat tip to a fellow Overkills fan for this idea) – The Overkills spend the day at an amusement park. They go on rides, stuff themselves on cotton candy, and visit the fun house. Scarlet plays all the booth games and wins Herb lots of fluffy prizes. That guy won't be able to wipe the smile off his face!
Chef's Night – Scarlet and Herb prep, cook, and eat a five course meal. Over the closing credits, we watch them clean the dishes. Herb washes (his apron has a duck on it), Scarlet dries.
Movie Marathon – We watch two (or twelve!) hours of the Overkills watching a bunch of movies. Would involve eating popcorn, snuggling, making snarky comments about any bad ones they see, sobbing over the sad ones, laughing hysterically over the funny ones. If one of the movies turns out to be boring, Scarlet would start flicking popcorn at Herb. Then it'd turn into a full-fledged popcorn battle!
Bubble Bath Delight – Scarlet and Herb probably have a huge, sunken tub in their castle. They'd fill it with bubbles, and lots of 'em. The bubbles would be so thick and high they could play a game of hide-and-seek in the bath. Lots of splashing, kissing, and making bubble hairstyles.
A Walk in the Park – In this movie, the Overkills visit a city park. They hold hands and go on long strolls. Next, they play on the jungle gym. Herb pushes Scarlet on the swing. And then of course they visit the duck pond, where there are many cute little fluffy quacking ducks. Scarlet watches from a healthy distance while Herb frolics with the ducks. Bonus points for this movie if he loses his balance and falls into the pond. Scarlet bites her lip and her amused expression is all like, Oh, Herb, you're such a foxy dork!
