Within the Pages

Chapter 16

I hope you guys are enjoying this so far. 

Arriving in Camelot the guards at the gate let us go through as they remember me as the one who helped save King Arthur and because we have an elite guard accompanying us. We also have no problem at the second gate and rush up to the keep to find Merlin. The guard is the one to lead us as he is the only one who knows where Merlin's chambers are and we arrive there shortly and knock on the door.

"Come in" A voice calls out that sounds like the Merlin we talked to before.

We open the door and head in. "Merlin" I call out to him. "We need your help to get to Wonderland. Morgana tricked my mom into falling in the rabbit hole which is the portal to Wonderland."

"Give me just a minute I might have just the thing to help you get to Wonderland" Merlin appears out of a doorway and heads to a battered old chest sitting on the other side of the room from the door. Rummaging through the chest he brings out a long wand. "This wand should be able to send you to Wonderland. All you have to do is think of the place and it will bring you there as long as you are standing still. Anything you touch will also be brought with you so your dad and Goldilocks can come with you as long as you are touching in some way."

"Thank you Merlin." I start to say goodbye to the knight but he refuses to hear it.

"I am coming with you Charlie. You saved my life and now I owe a debt and I always fulfil my debts. I will be by your side until you have no longer use for me or until I die trying to help you" The knight tells me with conviction.

"Thank you for being so noble." I think for a moment. "If we are to be travelling together for a while I guess I should know your actual name instead of thinking of you as the knight"

"Oh yes of course. My name is Lancelot"

The shock registers on my face as I finally know who this knight is. The noblest, bravest, and strongest knight in the book of King Arthur. Of course he can't know that I know all about him so I say "Nice to meet you Lancelot, it will be great to have you along this journey."

"If you want to save rescue your mother you had better hurry" Merlin interrupts Lancelot's response and hold the wand out to me. We each grab onto each other. What an odd sight we must look like. We are a huge strong man, Goldilocks, Lancelot, and a 16 year old kid who traveled through 2 books and just leaving the third book to get to Wonderland. I raise the wand with one hand and grabbing on to everyone else with the other. I think of the place that will reunite me with my mother for the second time this day. Wonderland. With a big whoosh a portal opens up on the ceiling on top of us and we get sucked in and find ourselves in another forest again. What is it with me and forests since this journey began.

"Are we in Wonderland?" Goldilocks asks looking around.

I look around too. I'm sure we are in Wonderland. I did what Merlin said and thoughts about the place where my mother was, Wonderland. I was also thinking about how much I missed her and how I wish I never lost her again. Oh no! " We aren't in Wonderland" I tell the others.

"Where are we then? Lancelot asks me getting closer.

My dad looks around us and understands because of his previous travels in these books. "We are in the land of Hansel and Gretel.
