(WOOO! 2 chapters in one day! I'm so proud of myself ☺)
"Steve. Steve. Steve. Steve. Steve." I repeated.
"What?!" He finally answered.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"We're going mining."
"What's that?"
Steve sighed. "Mining. Like in MINEcraft."
He face palmed when I looked at him with a confused expression. "It's where you go find valuable stuff to make tools with."
"Tools? Like pickaxes and stuff?" I asked.
"What you you know? She knows what a pickaxe is!" Muttered Steve.
"I can hear you..."
He didn't answer. We kept walking until we came to a stone tunnel that led down into the earth. Steve began to descend it.
I followed him. About halfway down, he stopped and started digging a new passage.
After a while, he came to a stone with tiny brown specks in it.
"What's that?" I questioned. "Is it bad?"
"No, this is iron. It's good."
"What? No, this can't be iron. Iron is shiny and it comes in bars! Duh..." I corrected him.
"That's after you smelt it," he explained. "When you first mine it out of the ground, it looks like this. Ten you put it in a furnace and it comes out in shiny bars, just like you said."
"Why would you put iron in a furnace? That's silly."
"It's called smelting." He looked back at me. "Now will you please stop asking me questions?!"
"Wait," I paused.
"Ugh, what now?!"
"Can I help?"
He glared at me. "No."
"Why not?" I urged.
"No."
"That doesn't answer my question!"
"No."
I was starting to get annoyed. "I'm going to keep annoying you until you let me help!" I threatened.
He scowled at me. "Fine, now shut up."He gave me a stone pickaxe and began mining again.
I tried to copy his movements, but it was harder then it looked.
"Steve?" No answer. "Don't make me start again..." Still no answer. "You asked for it... Steve. Steve. Steve. Steve."
"What?!" He snapped.
"How do you mine?" I asked.
He ignored me and turned back to his work.
"Steve. Steve. Steve. Steve. Steve."
"Oh. My. God. Shut. Up." He seethed.
"But seriously, how do you mine?"
He sighed. He grabbed my pickaxe and showed me how to hold it. Then he started chipping at the rock.
He handed the pick back and I tried to copy him. I was actually getting somewhere now.
I mined a few blocks, until I came to a different block. It had tiny light blue specks in it.
"Steve. Steve. Steve. Steve." I called.
"WHAT NOW?!"
"What's this?"
He came back up his tunnel and peered at the rock. His eyes went wide. "You found diamonds!" He exclaimed.
"No No No. These can't be diamonds. Diamonds are shiny and oval shaped. But let me guess. You put these in the furnace too?" I guessed.
He didn't answer. Instead he mined the block and our popped a diamond. But how did that block just magically turn into a diamond?
This world is so confusing!
