Today is the day of the Portal Opening! The day I've been waiting for all year! I was ready to whine to my mom and hopefully any her enough to let me go out.
The ceremony was to start in an hour, and I had to sit onstage. I hated public speaking, or even public sitting, like I'd be doing today.
Also, Mom makes me wear my stupid princess dress, instead of my normal warrior's outfit. I hate it. It's too tight, and I can't walk in my shoes.
Mom wanted me to start getting ready now, but I disobeyed her orders. Now I sat in my room on my bed, searching up pictures of the amazing world outside of the End.
It really did seem beautiful there; there was actual life, like trees and grass and flowers. There was water, and mountains, and caves, and everything! I wanted to go so badly it hurt.
There were a whole bunch of other mobs too. All we have here in the End, are Enderman and Dragons. But in the outside world, there's a whole bunch of other stuff! I don't even know what half of it is!
"MsMisty!" Ordered Mom. "Get off that stupid laptop and start getting ready!"
I sighed and closed my laptop. Mom always knew what I was doing. I would swear she had hidden video cameras in my room or something.
I quickly changed into my dress and ran downstairs, tripping over my heels. I cursed and fell. As I picked myself back up, I saw a guard carrying a piece of the End portal into the throne room.
I had completely forgot that the portal would be opening in all my rush. I went into the room and sat down on the smaller throne that sat beside the 2 slightly bigger ones for my mom and dad.
The guards were assembling the portal in the center of the room. I tried to resist the urge to go look, but my curiosity got the better of me, and I got up and trotted over to the table.
I picked up one of the Eyes of Ender as inspected it carefully. It almost glowed. Maybe it did, I couldn't tell for sure.
"Put that down Misty!" Scolded my father as he walked into the throne room. "We need to get that portal assembled before the rest of the End gets here!"
I put down the eye and sat back down on my throne.

The ceremony was about to start, and the audience was packed full. I stared at the completed End portal. They would put in the last Eye of Ender at the end of the session.
I spotted Rose in the crowd and waved at her. She smiled at me and pointed to the End portal.
We were interrupted by Mom as she started speaking. "We bring you all here today to witness the 10 000 048 729th opening of the End portal!" Yes, that's how long the End has been around.
"I'd like to welcome this year's placer, Merra Lisile!" She gestured to a Enderwoman wearing a purple dress, who was holding the final Eye of Ender. The placer was the one lucky person who got to place the last Eye into the portal.
Everyone cheered. I watched as Merra carefully slid the Eye into place. The portal buzzed to life. The cheering got louder.
"Alright everyone!" Shouted me dad over the screaming of the crowd. "I know you are all excited to get going, but I'd like you to all stay for the banquet! The portal will be open for a full 24 hours, so you will still have lots of time!"
The crowd dispersed into the gigantic banquet hall. I took my place near the end of the table beside my parents.
Before they could even sit down, I started talking. "Can I go into the outside world now?"I asked hurriedly.
"No," answered Mom. "Absolutely not."
I knew she was going to answer that. "Oh come on! That's what you say every year! You have to let me go out at some point!"
"I don't have to do anything!" Protested Mom. "You will be staying here, and that is that young lady!"
I groaned. "But mom!"
"No buts! You are NOT going out into vanilla Minecraft!"
I had always wondered why she always called it 'vanilla Minecraft'. Vanilla means plain, and nothing special! But from what I've seen, it is none of that!
"Mom!" I complained. "You can't stop me!" I started walking off towards the portal.
"Oh yes I can!" She yelled back. "I knew you were going to do this, so I put a restraint spell on you! You can't leave the End for tonight!"
"What?!" I exclaimed. "No!"
"Yes!" She growled. "Now come sit back down! You are staying for this banquet!"
I sighed. There was no way I was going outside now.
