Chapter 10 [Melody]

I stayed up in my bed all night. I grabbed my computer and started watching some movies. I just remember the feeling of jumping into the water and my feet being replaced with a blue tail. God, in the morning I need to talk to Dad. How could he not tell us this?! Shut my computer and took a piece of paper and wrote

If you wake up and I am not here then you should know, I am just going out for a walk, I am taking my guitar.

I grabbed my guitar and creeped down the stairs and out the back door. Behind our house was Widow's Forest. I walked into the forest, through the woodland paths. I started walking to my secret place where I go to be alone and play music, at night. I just can't fall asleep, judge me, I don't care. I went through the forest and finally found it my den. It was an actual den. It was a cave I found one day.

I was 7 and I was walking through the forest with Harm and I ran ahead. Again, judge me, I don't care. Then it started to rain and I saw this place. I ran inside and found a bunch of rabbits curled up together. Then, thunder boomed and the bunnies jumped. I walked up to them and they just stood there. I held out my hand so they could trust me.

I just have great experiences here. I walked into the den and looked around. This place was my second home. This is also where I do most of my drawing. Then I heard a voice

"Mel? Why are you here now?" I turned around and saw "Aunt" Veena

"I think the real question is what you are doing in my den?"

"Well, first of all, your den? Second, I was just in the forest. Third, your den?"

"Yes, I call it my den, deal with it!" she started laughing and then looked to my guitar

"Vi's guitar. Can I hear you play?"

"sure. Let me think of a song." I thought for a second "Oh I know!" "The Great Divide" by The McClain Sisters
