*****warning this chapter might be a trigger to some. So just in case, this is a trigger warning ******
Its him...its Derek...he's back.... He murdered Michaels aunt...
"W-what?" Michael shakily asked beside me. His voice snapped me out of my trance and I stepped back into the room.
My heart raced in my chest, blood rushing to my head.
Fear.
Fear is the only thing racing through my head.
He's back...
Everything I've been through with him came back in flashbacks. Him hugging me and telling me he loves me. Him throwing a plate at my head and screaming at me as I cried.
I can't have him back...i don't want him back...
"Luke...Luke...say something...oh my god, your shaking." Michael grabbed my hand and gave it a slight squeeze. I stopped shaking, his touch relaxing me and I looked into his worried eyes.
"Michael I'm scared..." I admitted.
Michael nodded," I know you are...I am too..."
"LUKE?..." Derek yelled into the house. His deep voice radiating through the walls.
"Babe, I know your home. I'm sorr-"
I tuned out and began staring off into the distance.
I need to get rid of him...before he hurts me...before he hurts Michael...Michael...
I looked into his eyes. His beautiful green eyes... How they sparkled in the light...
A wave of protectiveness washed over me like a wave.
I need to protect him... I won't let Derek hurt him.
"I'll be right back, okay?" I whispered.
Michael looked at me worriedly," what? Where are you going?"
I sighed, "just stay up here okay? Hide in the closet and don't come out until I come to get you."
"What?"
"Promise me."
"You can't go downstairs Luke. He killed my aunt, he's mentally sick he might hurt you. "
"He won't hurt me...he loves me.... I'm gonna get rid of him , I can do this. "
Michael looked at me worriedly, his eyes watering. I gave him a nervous smile and walked away.
Derek isn't the same Derek I used to know. He killed someone, who knows how many people he's killed in the past? He's sick..mentally sick.
I remember one day, I came home from school. The house was empty and quiet, too quiet. So I walked around abit until I found Derek waiting for me in the kitchen.
He accused me of cheating on him. I tried reassuring him that there was no one else. As his voice grew louder, mine grew quieter. He grabbed plates and glass cups and through them at me. His voice was so loud... Once he walked out I found myself in a corner with broken shards of glass all around me, bleeding a little from some cuts. I was so scared. I stared at those broken pieces of glass for a long time... It was then that I realized that I was just like a shard of broken glass. Broken. The next day Derek came back. Telling me how he loved me and how much he was sorry.
And of course I believed him...
It's funny, just yesterday I thought he loved me. But it only took Michael to open my eyes to see that I didn't need Derek.
I walked to the top of the stairs and slowly began to descend them. Derek noticed my presence and smiled. Oh how I used to be in love with that smile...
His cold blue eyes watched me, looking over my body. Mentally I cringed.
"Get out." I growled and clenched my jaw. I rolled my hands into a fists as I came to stand in front of him.
Derek displayed one of his famous smiles. The one that used to win me over after every argument we had. No longer did that charm work on me.
"Oh come on babe... Don't act like that. Look, I know the way we ended things last night wasn't right. Okay? I was mad, but I had time to think it through and I'm sorry."
He sighed, giving one of his sorry pouts.
I kept my jaw clenched and my face emotionless.
"Get out of my house Derek."
He frowned," oh come on baby..."
"Don't baby me. Get out of my house. "
"Look...I'm so sorry I ever hurt you. I'm so...so sorry...I love you Luke." He said. His cold eyes staring right at me, waiting for me to forgive him. To come back to him.
Yesterday I would've gave in. I would've went straight up to him and hugged him, mumbling that I forgave him.
But all that was on my mind was Michael...and to make sure he's safe.
"Get out of my house before I call the cops."
Derek instantly grew serious. His eyes darkened. His famous pout replaced with a clenched jaw. His posture was straightened, his shoulders back, hands in fists. I looked up at him, trying to remain emotionless when really I was mentally freaking out.
I've never seen him look like this before. Not even when we argued.
His mouth formed into a devilish snarl, eyes growing colder.
"I wouldn't do that if I was you baby."
I walked past him to the door.
"I told you to get out of my house."
I pulled the door open. Derek suddenly appeared next to me and slammed it shut. The loud bang of the door startled me and I stepped back shakily. My heart began to race wildly in my chest.
Derek locked the door and turned back to face me. The same snarl on his face.
He locked the door...
I backed away from him, trying to put as much distance between us without giving him the impression of being scared.
"Now why would you want me to leave baby?" His voice went deep and slowly he began to walk toward me. Eyes narrowed on me as if I was prey and he was the predator.
"I told you to get out of my house Derek. Your not welcomed here."
He chuckled, his deep voice radiating off the walls. I stopped backing away and slowly he walked up to me. Face to face, eye to eye.
"Tell me, is there someone else?"
I hesitated," no."
His mouth moved into a thin line, his jaw clenched tightly.
His hands moved out and before I knew it he had me pinned against the wall. His face was so close to mine, I could feel his hot breath brush against my cheek.
"Don't lie to me." He growled.
"IS THERE SOMEONE ELSE?" He screamed into my ear. I squeezed my eyes shut. I no longer tried to act fearless. By this point I was shaking and hot tears slid down my cheeks.
I didn't answer.
He growled, his deep voice radiating through my chest.
He grabbed me by the neck and threw me to the floor. I gasped as my head banged against the floor and pain shot up my spine.
Derek was on top of me in a matter of seconds. Straddling me and pinning me to the floor.
"TELL ME WHO HE IS." He screamed into my face.
I squeezed my eyes shut as a struggled sob escaped my throat.
I screamed in agony as his fist met my eye. This has never happened before, he's never hit me before. This is new.
"WHO IS HE?" He screamed again.
I turned my head away from him but he only got closer.
"WHO IS HE?" He screamed into my ear.
I screamed again as his fist connected to my jaw.
"DON'T TOUCH HIM." Someone growled.
Suddenly the weight of Derek on top of me was lifted. I heard him crash to the floor with a thud.
I opened my eyes and looked up. My eyes blurry with tears.
I tried to squint my eyes as I sobbed but it only made it worse. All I could see looking over me was the silhouette of an angel...
