I'm in my room and I'm terrified. She is banging on my door and yelling at me to open it. She's trying to kill me and there's nothing I can do.
"SIENNA! Stop being so dramatic."
"But Akia! I don't want to."
"C'mon Si-Si! I need my lieutenant."
"You can go without me." She's not going to leave without me. But you see, I really don't want to go. I'm tired and these meetings are incredibly boring.
Still, I'm already dressed. I only just made the decision that I don't want to go.
I open the door and am greeted by a mildly irritated Akia. She's dressed like a normal person for once. A dress. Just a dress. Everyone here dresses so weird and over the top. It's disturbing.
"Let's go. We're gonna be late." She sounds calm. Concerned, but calm. I wonder what this meeting is about. I don't ask. I just take her hand as she calls out a Pokémon, a Kirlia. "Kina, Teleport us to Goldenrod City."
Kina chirps in response and in a split second we're transported to the capital of Johto, right outside the Radio Tower. We go in and take the elevator to the fifth floor. The Kanto and Johto leaders are all here. We're the last ones in. Oh well. Not my problem.
"Fashionably late as usual," Lance says when we enter. Akia rolls her eyes at him. I hate Lance. He thinks he's so high and mighty because he's the champion of two regions. Akia could take him out without even trying except that'd attract attention to ourselves... As if her being a gym leader wasn't enough.
"Well," Lance continues once Akia and I take our seats, "now that the two princesses have arrived, I believe we can start this meeting. Jasmine..."
Said gym leader sits up straight and turns on the monitor hologram thingy in the middle of the table. A news clip from the Kalos region pops up. It's silent but the images speak for themselves. War. Civil war. Bullets raining down from the sky, Pokémon killing their own kind. It's kind of disturbing.
Jasmine spoke as the clips continue. "The situation in Kalos has been getting much worse as you can see. The Kalos Incitation Coalition has been requiring upon us assistance more pertinaciously than ever before."
"What the hell did she just say," Akia whispers to me.
"The KIC really really wants our help."
"Well why didn't she just say that," Akia whispers harshly. " 'Pertinaciously?' 'Requiring upon us?' 'Incitation?' That's so confusing."
"She wants to feel good about herself. I don't know. It makes her feels smart."
"Ahem." Jasmine clears her throat rather loudly. Is she okay? "As I was saying, this is a war between the Kalosians and under any other circumstance we would not get involved. However, the two major forces vying for governance over the Kalos region are attempting to strongarm us into their own tumultuous dissention."
Akia looks at me for a translation. "The KIC and Flash Corps are trying to force us to get involved in the civil war."
"Excuse me," Lance says. Akia and I look over to him. "Ladies, is there a problem."
"Yeah, there is," Akia responds sassily. "Please tell Miss Jasmine here to terminate her pertinacious sesquipedalian loquaciousness."
There was some quiet laughter amongst those who understood and some confused looks thrown in my direction. "She wants Jasmine to stop using big words." The laughter intensified.
Lance smirked, trying to hide his amusement. "Jasmine, I think that would be in everyone's best interest."
Jasmine didn't seem phased. "Yes sir. It is rumored that the KIC has sent an unknown number special operatives to the Johto region."
"Unknown number," Lieutenant Surge questions. "It's four right: Xaviere, Margaux, Cody, and Coyne." He's referring to the kids the KIC sent over to discuss alliances and crap like that. I've never really talked to them. They seem too involved in this war for children.
"It is my belief they've sent five or six more," Jasmine says. "Two of which being..." She presses a button on the remote and the image changes to show two side by side pictures each featuring a child. One appears to show a girl with amber eyes, the other a boy with shaggy black hair. Both were hiding in trees, guns aimed at a target.
The room became silent. "Lisian and Jasper," Sabrina said. "They are assassins."
"Yes," Jasmine continued. "However they are the least of our worries. The Flash Corps is also rumored to have sent soldiers to this region."
"Are they assassins," Clair asks.
"Unknown but unlikely."
"Then why don't we worry about the assassins who may be trying to kill one of us?" The other gym leaders and Elite 4 members murmur in agreement.
"I have a way to deal with those two. Stephanie?"
...Oh yeah, that's me. What? Did you think we were going to sneak into an entirely different country, much less region, while evading arrest for three murders, one of which started a civil war that has lasted for four years and has killed tens of thousands, and use our real names? That'd be incredibly stupid...
"Yes," I respond.
"I need you to go retrieve a boy." The image on the hologram switches again. This time two a boy with feathery brownish blond hair and green eyes. He resembles Jasmine in facial structure and they have that same protective look in their eyes. I know this kid.
"This is my cousin," Jasmine continues. "Peridot Olivine." Peridot! How could I forget that name. "Though most just call him Perry." Peridot. Peridot is too beautiful to be shortened to Perry. "You should find him at the daycare center just past here. I believe he knows both Lisian and Jasper. He should be able to help us communicate with the two."
I nod as Jasmine continues. Arceus, does she ever shut up? "Meeting adjourned for now. We will resume once Peridot is here."
"Do you wanna pound a gavel," Akia asks sarcastically. She doesn't like Jasmine. There isn't enough wrong with the Steel type trainer. Some laugh while others just get up and leave.
Akia turns to me with a bored expression. "Want me to come with you?"
I shake my head. "No I'm good." Besides, this is the perfect opportunity to finally begin my own plan. They can't tell me it's a lost cause. I know what they really mean anyway.
I'll get him over here if it's the last the I do. But it most certainly won't be. Oh no. I swear if they try and stop me again, that'll be the last thing they ever do.
