"So basically, I don't like how this is going."

I hear a laugh. "I see you're enjoying yourself!" I stare at the Pokégear. It's so dark in the room, I know Akia can't see me but I don't care. She knows exactly what she's doing.

What exactly is she doing, you ask? Well to put it quite simply, Peridot and his family are rich. They live in a three story mansion right outside Olivine City. It's only him and his two parents but the house has no less than eight rooms. It's very unnecessary.

But that's not what Akia's going on about. Wulfric had something of a mansion we had to stay in when we were training. I hated it. It was always so militaristic and uptight. That is never a good combination.

I roll over onto my side. Averie curls up into me though I believe it's just a natural reaction. She's usually dead asleep, little can wake her up. I place my hand on her head and give her a rub. I've thought about catching another Pokémon but... I'm not sure. Averie is enough.

"Hey Sienna, you there?"

"Yeah."

"Look, you're leaving in the morning so everything should be fine." She pauses. I wonder what's she doing. "But that is a little concerning. You said Peridot was able to handle it. If there's another attack, you'll be fine. Well, good night Si-Si. Have fun!" She hangs up the phone. Sometimes I wonder why she's my favorite family member. Then I remember no one else likes me. Oh well. It could be worse.

I sit up in the guest bed and cover Averie with a blanket. I can't sleep. I don't know why; maybe there's too much on my mind.

I get out of bed. Now would be a good time to go to the beach. Sure it's eleven at night but that's even better. It means there will be no people the. Well, it also means it'll be cold but whatever. I haven't been to the beach in a long time. Since I lived with my aunt in fact.

I try to remember which way to go. This house, no mansion, is huge. I go down a flight of stairs at the end of the hallway I'm on. It looks like I'm in some type of den or living room. I walk through a doorway on the opposite side of the living took and end up in a library.

Oh boy. This is gonna take a while.

I'm finally at the beach. It took maybe fifteen minutes but I finally got out of the house. The downside? Peridot is also there. He's sitting in the sand, a Leafeon at his side and a Mantyke playing out in the water.

Should I go talk to him? Mmm, no. What would be the point? I decide to go in the opposite direction, toward the lighthouse. I sit on the steps leading up to it and look a out at the water.

It's kind of cold outside. That's one thing I don't like about the beach. At night it gets very cold. Too cold in fact. I stand up. It's unnaturally cold. Am I imagining it? No. No, I'm not crazy; it's freezing. I get back up. I could go back to Peridot's house... but I just spent twenty minutes trying to get out of there. I should go to town. I've always wanted to go to Olivine City, but I've never had the time.

I leave the lighthouse and head towards town. There's actually quite a few people out. I guess I should have figured this; Olivine is a tourist destination.

I walk down the streets lined with shops and restaurants. Most are closed but there are a few that's open. Inside are mostly people in their twenties eating and drinking and having a good time.

I decide to go to a little bar with three people inside. Am I old enough for a bar? Mmm, if I'm not, they'll kick me out. Besides, I'm not even planning on drinking.

I take a seat at the bar and look up at the television in the corner of the ceiling. The news is on. Who puts on the news in a bar?

The bartender comes over to me. "Can I get you anything?"

"Just water would be fine." He nods and goes to get my drink. I stare at the TV their talking about the situation in Kalos. It's breaking news so I guess I should listen.

"We've just gotten word of the situation at a meeting of the KIC members," the news anchor says. She's on location it looks like in Anistar. The bartender passes me my drink. "While addressing the crowd, one of the KIC leader nominees, Sage Glaçon, was fired at."

I choke on my water, attracting the attention of the other customers and the bartender. I ignore them, choosing to focus entirely on the screen.

"Earlier this evening, the KIC frontrunner was taking questions when two bullets were fired at him. One grazed is forehead, the other lodged into his abdomen. The event was immediately called off and Glaçon was rushed to the hospital in serious condition. We do have video of the event."

The scene shifts to a shaky camera images of Sage standing at a podium. He looks so much older than when I last saw him.  Actually, he looks more like our father, but with chestnut brown hair. Somehow, Sage manages to look authoritive and unsure all at once.

He leaned forward into the mic and laughs softly in response to a question. "No, I am not dating anyone." He looks at the crowd and points. "Yes, in the green shirt." A few seconds pass. "We have operatives in Johto, Kanto, and Hoenn and—"

A gunshot. Sage touched his hand to his head. Another shot. Sage yelps and clutches his side. He falls behind the podium. A few people that were sitting in the seats behind him run over to him. There is yelling and running.

Then the screen goes black.

Umm... Hi! What's it been, like too long. Yeah, Junior year hit me hard but it's just about over now. Only three more days to go for me.

Anyway. I'm back. I'm a better writer (I hope). And we're gonna see how this works.

Tentative schedule is Mondays and Fridays for this story. Subject to change. I'll probably be updating more since I have some chapters written and the school year is over.

Well that's all for me for now. Any questions? Comments? Concerns? Anything you wanna see in this story? Be sure to let me know! See you Friday.
