I am tired. I could not sleep last night, at all. I've known for a while that it isn't safe in Kalos, but... I never expected this. My mission now is even more urgent.
He isn't doing what I told him to. Russet that is. I gave him one order: make sure Sage stays safe. How annoying... I knew I couldn't trust him. I take out my Pokégear and compose an email to send him.
You are not doing your job.
Simple. I don't have time to deal with him now. If Russet won't do his job correctly, I won't deal with him right now. I need to focus on Sage. There's little room for stupidity.
Peridot and I are currently on a boat headed for Cianwood City. I'm thankful it isn't far, we've only been moving for maybe forty five minutes and I can already see the island. The two of us are currently on the deck of the ship. Peridot has been pacing back and forward for the last ten minutes. I wonder is he nervous. Maybe excited? Who knows. I do wish he'd stop, though. It's very distracting.
Averie sits at my side, her tail wagging wildly as she faces the sky. The dark fur on her face appears to be the same color as the rest of her body. She looks so excited. That's how its been with her lately: either she's full of energy or she's dead tired. It's a little worrying, but I can't bother to worry about her now. I plan on putting her in her Pokéball anyway.
A few minutes later we arrive in Cianwood City, though I'd hardly call this place a city. More a village. Houses are sparse and there isn't a street in sight. It's quite a contrast from the bustling Olivine City.
After I recall Averie, Peridot and I leave the boat and walk down the dock onto the sand. It,s very compacted, thankfully, and hardly moves when I step in it.
I look to Peridot. He's the one who knows where Jasper and the girl are. Peridot is staring at his Pokégear with a slightly confused look. He looks back at me, at first with that same confused look, then his face reddens.
"Oh, sorry," he says shaking his head. "Um, they're not too far away. Just around the side of of the mountain." He points to the mountainous structure at the edge of town. It's not much of a mountain range, but it's close enough.
"It should only take a few minutes. Maybe twenty minutes of walking." He mutters something else after that. It sounds cynical and confused.
He leads me through the sand across the town to the edge of the mountain. A small ways behind us at the entrance to a cave in the mountain face, a large number of trainers are congregating. I wonder what's back there. Either way, it's allowing us to walk down the beach unnoticed.
Around twenty-five minutes of silence later, we arrive behind the mountain. Only a small bar of sand separates us from the ocean. Peridot types quickly on his Pokégear and looks around him. His eyes stop on the mountain about 6 meters above the ground. Two figures appear, previously obscured by tall grass on the face of the mountain. They slide down a bit before hopping gracefully onto the sand. For a while, we just stare at each other.
Looking at Jasper, I can't help but feel at least somewhat guilty. He seems exhausted, which only serves to make him look older than his naturally mature appearance would dictate. His dark eyes dart back and forward shiftily, only occasionally stopping to glance at me or Peridot. He's curled in on himself but I doubt it's out of fear or nervousness. He looks ready to attack, muscles tensed, hands balled into fist.
The girl, Lisian I believe her name is, looks much more unsettling. She seems relaxed, creepily so, like a ghost that knows nothing can harm it. She's gently, ever so slightly, swaying from side to side, as if she will pass out at any moment. Her expression is calm but sharp and threatening. The girl's eyes are like chilled bars of gold, flecks of bronze shone in them like ancient knives. They arefixated on me. It's. . . It's unnerving. Who is she? Something about her serene yet frightening demeanor feels oddly familiar.
I decide to break the distressing silence.
"Do you have any idea if Sage is okay?" Jasper's eyes finally come to a complete stop.
"What are you talking about?" His deep voice would only lead to more confusion of his actual age.
Peridot speaks up. "Haven't you heard?" Well, I say speaks up, but his voice was nearly inaudible. I guess he notices, as he clears his throat and make another, louder attempt. "Sage was shot."
"Twice," I add. I'm not sure why. It feels necessary. They should know the gravity of the situation as well.
"No. . . We didn't know that," Jasper says.
Silence fills the area once more with only the sound of the ocean there to break it.
"Arrangements." Lisian's voice rings out across the beach. Her cold eyes stay on me. "Peridot, you said Lance wanted to make arrangements with us. What are they?"
"Um. . . H-He needs you to. . . ki- well, um, get rid of some people." Wow, really? Not really what I'd expect from Lance. I need to observe him much more. If he's willing to kill. . .
Peridot is about to say more but Jasper interrupts. "Is that all?" Well, damn. Guess they've become detached from their jobs. "Who are they?"
"Flash Corps operatives. Lance says that he believes they snuck into Johto, but he doesn't have solid proof." Flash Corps, huh. Are they the ones who attacked yesterday? Probably so. Who else could it have been.
"We were gonna do that anyway," Jasper says slowly, as if trying to gauge our reactions. "That's the entire reason we're here. Since we have nothing to gain, we're not going to ally with you. Taking orders from you people'll cause more trouble than we can risk. . . sorry." He adds that last word quite sincerely. But he knows he has a mission and regardless of friendships he'll carry it out. Wow. I wish I could've gotten him on my side instead of Russet. Actually. . . That sounds like a great idea.
"Well, um," Peridot begins. "Lance said he will consider aiding you, y-y'know the KIC, in the war if you, um, do it right." Lisian finally stops staring at me and looks at Peridot. Her eyes soften slightly as her high, bell-like voice resounds across the beach.
"I'll go. Jasper you focus on the mission. Kill if given the opportunity. Don't wait for my word." Jasper looks as if he wants to argue, but sighs and tiredly agrees instead.
Lisian calls out a Pokémon, a Hydreigon. This one however has a green body and heads along with violet collars and stripes. A shiny. She climbs onto it and looks at us once she settles in behind the main head.
"Lisian, y'know-"
"Are you coming or not," she interrupts. Peridot glances back at Jasper, the two making brief eye contact, before heading over to the dragon type Pokémon and trainer. I follow as well. I'm just happy she doesn't want us to walk.
"Hydreigon, use Fly." The Pokémon makes no noise, rising silently into the air, much higher than what is usually the Flying zone.
I look down at Jasper who is already making his way away from the beach. I can only hope Lance and Lisian can come to an agreement. My mission will be a whole lot easier if they do. If they don't, screw them. I'll just go with my Plan A.
Actually, scratch that. Way too messy. Let's go with Plan B.

So. . . Does it seem like my writing has gotten any better? No? It doesn't? Well, I tried.
After the next chapter the good crazy Sienna nonsense should really kick in. Unless I combine the two chapters, I'm not sure yet. Oh well, you'll find out Monday.
See ya!
