The light fades. Standing where my Eevee once was is a slender Pokemon, with fine mauve fur. The ends of her forked tail wave independently. Her ears, to large for her body, twitch ever so slightly. She lifts her head, slowly turning to face the us. Her eyes are a deep, bright ultramarine, unusual for her species.

Averie has evolved into an Espeon.

. . .Can't say I didn't see it coming.

She stands, still shaky from the paralysis. She yips to catch everyone's attention. Her eyes glow brighter, as does the ruby-red gemstone on her head. A pale blue aura surrounds the bodies of the Crobat and Goodra. They faintly raise into the air before beginning to growl in pain. It appears that Averie has learned Confusion.

Unfortunately, the surprise of Averie's evolution does not last long on my opponents. As soon as the blue aura fades, the two trainers call out their attacks.

"Goodra, Power Whip."

"Kilo, Air Slash!"

. . .Nothing happens. I look closer at the two Pokemon. Sparks of yellow electricity curl across their body. They're paralyzed? I look to Averie, her formerly expressive face now virtually unreadable. Had she caused this? Oh wait! Synchronize. Her special ability.

I can't help but smile. Maybe, just maybe, I can win this. Well, there is always the option of grabbing Averie and making a run for it. Give the twisting streets and alleys of this city, hiding wouldn't be a problem. And because of paralysis, the speeds of Crobat and Goodra are now halved. I've made up my mind.

I make a break for Averie, catching the other two trainers off guard. I pick up Averie. Somehow, she feels even more delicate now than as an Eevee. Holding her close to my body with one arm, I take off. I'm not as fast as I'd hoped I'd be; Averie is much heavier thanks to her evolution. I've barely made it ten feet with Averie before I hear Camille issuing a command.

"Kilo, use Haze!" Haze? What would that do?

I feel the chilly air on my back as I keep running. Maybe, their running away? I spot a building next to an alley I can use as an evasive maneuver. Averie yelps loudly but before I can acknowledge her, I'm knocked over. I see a purple blur go past me as I tip forward. I curl into a ball to protect Averie as I land face first onto the pavement. I slide for a bit before coming to a stop on my back. My vision goes blurry, my head pulsates. My face hurts. As do my arms and legs. Averie shifts in my arms. I can feel the tingling of the paralysis. I move my head and--

What's that? Something warm slides down my temple. I move again. This time the warm liquid goes down my cheek. I make a feeble attempt to sit up, my head still pounding. The warmness slips down my face and over my lips. Instinctively, my tongue darts out to taste it. It is, of course, warm and. . . metallic. I lift my hand to my face, flinching at the sudden pain. The warmness covers my fingertips. I look at my hand. . .

Oh no. No. No. NO. My breathing becomes erratic. My body shakes. My pulse quickens. And yet, the world slows.

T-they're trying to kill me. They are. They are! I- I can't just lie here! They'll hurt me! But they already have. . .

I bolt upright, ignoring the screaming of my headache. I've gotta do something. I scan for a weapon. A rock, a brick, a-a stick. Anything!

Wait! My hand snaps to my pocket and yanks out a pocket knife. Its handle is light blue with pictures of Snover on it. I flip out the blade and stand, nearly falling over. Something tumbles from my body. . . Oh, Averie. I'm sure she's fine.

My vision finally focuses. Not far from me are three human figures. Two threats.  The looks on their faces. . . Are they scared? NO! They can't be scared. Th-They attacked me! They are trying to kill me! Those are threatening looks for sure. The third figure is further away. Peridot? He has a Pokemon at his side. Leafeon? He has that same look in his eye. I-Is he a threat too!? Oh dear. Well, three! Three threats!

I run at them. Two more figures emerge. Goodra? Crobat? I don't want to hurt a Pokemon.

The Goodra takes a swipe at me but I dodge. The Crobat swoops down, making my hair fall into my face. I duck just quick enough to avoid any further damage.

No not  even Pokemon shall be spared. My life is much more important and if they're willing to hurt me, what choice do I have but to end them.

I slice a wide arc with the short blade of the knife. It slows down slightly as its path ends. My ears are suddenly bombarded with a slew of annoying sounds. Screams, yell crying! Whatever it is shut up! I don't care! Just. . . Just leave me alone!

I see more figures begin to surround me. No matter! I'll take care of them all if necessary. Which it will be. If I let them live, then they could hurt me again. And we just can't have that. Can we?

My heart beats painfully against my chest. Very painfully. It. . . beats to hard. I-I need to end it soon! Once it's over, I'll feel so much better. I always do.

My body is moving without me thinking. I can't think. I can't. . . focus. I need to live! I need to! I will. I will. I will. Fight. Live. Kill. I see a wall of bodies move towards me.

My mind goes blank.

What if I told you, I forgot when Friday was?

And what if I told you I thought I had already published this chapter? On Friday?

And what if I somehow made it up to you?

What if I released two chapters Friday?

Would you enjoy that?

Seriously, would you? I'm thinking about that since I forgot Friday was a thing. I was gonna do it today but Monday isn't a very grand day now is it?

But yeah! So you've just seen what really goes on in Sienna's mind when she's, ahem, having a moment. It's a little chaotic , wouldn't you say?

Well anyway, see you Friday! (For sure this time!) Bye~~~!
