BEFORE YOU READ: I recommend watching the YouTube video linked at the side. This video captures both the main point in the chapter, Jake's outfit intended, and the title of the next chapter. Enjoy, but then read the chapter after you watch the video! Thank you for reading!

"Tony?" I cried out, running down the halls. Mark was running after me with a gun still in his hands and everyone else stayed behind.

"We really need to get Jake to safety," Mark shouted. I scoffed. So much for a 'fucking nutcase'.

I ran into the main party room and saw Ian walking around Tony. Tony looked scared, but not in the way he usually would in a situation like this. Ian was getting to him. I grabbed Mark's gun and shot Ian in the back of the head, making him cry out in anger.

Tony fell to the floor and Ian was suddenly gone in a cloud of smoke. Mark and I ran to Tony, helping him sit up. He grabbed onto my arm and shivered, looking behind me.

"What was it like?" Mark asked. Tony cringed.

"Not fun," he replied. "I knew what was happening, but everything seemed so welcoming. Everything about Ian. It was like he was taking me home or something after a long night of... this hellhole."

"Ian's only taking those who've been the bots before," Mark sighed. Tony's eyes widened. The glass one shimmered and I saw the worry in his face. "Good thing we've stopped everyone so far."

"And there's no one else now," Tony sighed thankfully. Jon smiled from on stage and I could hear Austin trying to compromise with Matt and Jirard.

"Unless they try to take us guards next." Mark looked at me with a scared expression. He pushed up his glasses and Tony let go of my arm, sitting in the dirt on the floor with a sad face.

I turned to see Jirard and Matt cornering Austin. Mark nodded, taking notes, and got up. He patted my shoulder, nodding at me, and ran towards the bathrooms.. We were still.

"I really don't like Zelda Month," Matt hissed at Austin.

"And you really don't know the ins and outs of every Zelda game like how I do," Jirard added. Austin didn't seem upset. He only smiled. They raised their guns at him and both shot water into his face, making him cough and sputter, but his stapled smile stayed there, making him seem wild with laughter after he pushed the two out of the way.

"What is Mark doing?" he asked, face dripping with diluted blood. He looked around the room, at me, and then to the stage where Jon was standing ominously. There was a moment of silent where Jirard and Matt stood straight, trying to figure out why Jon and Austin were staring at each other so deeply.

"GET HIM."

I sprinted to the office and slid into the wall to see Ian kicking Mark to the ground. I screamed at him and started to run into the office. Jake was standing there, staring at Ian. Ian grabbed something from his pocket, stabbing himself in the neck with it. I got to the doorway just as Jake jolted violently a cry coming from his gaping mouth. Mark and I screamed and watched in horror as Ian did the unthinkable before us. Sonja must have woken up in the time I took to save Tony for I heard her screaming and crying, seeing her peering from behind the desk.

Ian dragged whatever he had across his neck and then I saw what he was doing. Blood was spitting out of Jake's neck, into the air, and onto Ian's face and suit, and sadly onto Mark and I. I was close enough to reach Ian, but I was so shocked I had to stop. Jake fell to his knees and in the blink of an eye, Ian smiled at me and was gone. Jake sat there, blood pouring from his neck and his mouth where it was sputtering and bubbling. He looked to his mouth, his hands, to me, and then to his eyelids as he fell into the floor.

"Holy shit!" Mark cried. "Holy fucking shit! He just did that!" I saw him crying. I saw Jake lying in a puddle of his own blood. Austin was laughing. I leaned against the wall and stared at Jake.

After all I had been through, from being subject to being attacked by Tony to having to pull the wires out of someone's skull, and now even seeing one of my best friend's dead before me when no one else could see him, never had I thought anything would prepare me to watch a man's life be ended. A friend's at that. In front of my very own eyes.

I don't remember if I was crying or not, but I did remember what Mark was doing; he was curled up in the vent entrance crying, blood dripping down his face and neck. I cringed at the thought of knowing it was Jake's.

Jordan wasn't moving. Tom wasn't moving. Suzy wasn't moving. Jake wasn't moving. I stumbled over to Jordan and sat against the wall, sliding down until I couldn't see Jake anymore, or his growing blood puddle. I grabbed Jordan's limp hand and sat there. He was probably dead.

The others came back into the office and Jirard was the first to scream, Matt gasping and Tony silent. They left, not wanting to be in the room. Mark left after a while and I was starting to lose time. I fell asleep against Jordan, the smell of rot heavy in the office and the sounds of Sonja's hushed sobbing letting me fall asleep uneasily.
