"Stay still," Jordan said.
I felt no breathing down my neck. I looked back down at him and he looked at me. Jon wasn't happy. He was frowning and his eyes were glowing bright. Blood trickled down his face from his eye and his upper lip was busted. He slowly reached behind his head and everyone was watching in amazement.
Jon grabbed onto his wires. He pulled hard at them and screamed as he did so. The animatronic scream was first, the loud, ear-piercing screech that many times had gotten to me turned slowly into JonTron screaming in pain as he brought himself back to life. He gripped hard onto my shoulder and I cringed, but I was more worried about Jon than anyone else.
He dropped the wires at his feet and Pushed me out of the way, Tony grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the way. Jon got on his knees and straddled Joey, the younger laughing hysterically. His blue eyes locked with Jon's dead brown and we watched. We watched and waited.
Jon grabbed Joey's head, the little ball cap coming off. on raised up Joey's head and after a second of hesitation, brought Joey's head hard into the ground below. We screamed and Tony looked away. I looked away. I heard Jon grunt and yell as he bashed Joey's skull into the ground and murdered him. Well, he murdered Balloon Boy. He saved Joey.
"Stop, man, c'mon," mark said calmly through the anger Jon was voicing. Jon began to cry as Mark peeled him off of Joey. I turned and looked, seeing the smile stuck on Balloon Boy's face. I shivered. Tony took in a deep breath. We stood there in hopes of Jon's valiant return to killing Balloon Boy, but really we had all had enough.
"We still need to get out of here," Sonja said, breaking the silence.
"We can't," Arin spoke up. "All of the exits are sealed. I was the last one in before Ian started everything up."
"You know what all happened?" Suzy asked.
"Sure, yeah. We all do, certainly, right?"
Jon and Sonja nodded. Tony and Jirard looked scared.
"Well, then, where were the exits? Maybe we can get out through where you guys came in," Matt said.
"That's going to be a problem," Jon said. "After we all came in, we were 'turned on' and became the monsters, so we started to lose some of our memories of what all actually happened. I don't know wher we came in from."
"Second," Sonja added.
"And third," Arin finished with a raise of his hand.
Standing around the main room, we looked to each other. Matt was sitting at the table, trying not to cry out in pain from the cuts on his body that were so deep I could see bone. Jirard was holding his hand while Matt squeezed all of the pain out I assume. Like when getting shots your mother holds you hand if you're in pain, ya know? It was sweet.
"Sonja, Arin," Matt said with great struggle, "Jon? Would you mind giving us a run-down of what all happened?"
"Based on what we have from Jake's recordings, we've got a good snipit, but more info is always nice," Jirard added. The three, still bloody and in their outfits, nodded. We conjugated at the tables and the three looked remorseful. It was silent.
Mark spoke up, relieving some of the tension, "We know you're sorry about attacking us, you guys. The others were, too."
"I probably apologize to Mark three times a week," Suzy said with a laugh, making some of us smile.
"Okay, then let's begin." We looked at Jon. "I was taken from my hotel in L.A. Just finished up some GrumpCades for old time's sake and was getting ready for bed. Ross and Holy set me up with a nice place and I was going to go over to their place for dinner that night."
"I said 'goodnight' to Jon and was headed home when I was taken out of my car," Arin said, looking at Jon.
"The police found it on th side of the highway still running," Suzy said. "We were all terrified."
"Everyone went looking for you guys," I said, looking at Sonja. "Even for you and Tucker."
"We were...." she took a second, looking over at the prize counter. "We were coming back from a date night and some shopping. Tucker got a really cool new headset for his computer and i got some new glasses for my computer, but we were stopped at the side of the highway. Some guy came out of the white van he was driving and asked us if we had any extra gas, and when we said no, he grabbed Tucker and pulled him out of the car and beat the shit out of him!"
She stopped and began to cry, Tom taking it upon himself to come over and rub her back. Jon stood and walked over to the Prize Counter and lifted the box, groaning when he looked in. Sona was busy crying, so Tom, Jordan, and I looked away while Jon finished him off. He was done attacking and he was slowly dying in his box. We heard a crack and a body drop. Jon walked back over to us.
"I remember waking up in a little cell," Arin began, "like the ones in a prison. I was in my clothes still and everything felt normal, but my head hurt like fuck."
"This guy kept coming into my cell and asking me all kinds of questions, and I think i recognized him from YouTube rewinds, but I don't remember very well."
"Jake from Vsauce 3," I said, glancing at Jordan.
"That's who that was?" Arin asked. I nodded. "Well, he asked all of us, I guess, a lot of questions about ourselves. Who we were married to, what our favourite colour was, what time we went to bed every night usually; they were strange questions and I didn't like them."
"And then he'd straight up kill us. I'd hear screams all night and when it was my turn, I played dead as best I could. "
"And then he'd give us clothes like these," Arin said as he pulled at his blood-soaked shirt. "ew..."
"He did stuff to us while we were dead, I think," Jon said. "Like the wires and such. he tied our hands so we wouldn't mess with anything and asked us the same questions over and over again."
"And then we came here and lost all control. I remembered blacking out before but not for that long, like this time."
"Now, we have to get out," Jon stood. Sonja wiped her tears and looked at him. "We need to get out of here! We don't belong here anymore!"
He walked to the boarded up glass doors started peeling off the boards with all of his strength, Tony and Mark running up to him and helping. We started to see the stars outside, Suzy and Arin gasping with delight. We all stood and ran to the doors, all chipping in with Jon.
Soon, painfully too long after, we freed the doors and Tony took it upon himself to punch the glass so hard with his metal wrist that the glass shattered. I stood back as he kicked the glass and it shattered everywhere, making me laugh with excitement.
Everyone poured out of the restaurant and into a warehouse, it seemed like, and through the open garage door. We ran into the open and large alley and let the warm and breezy L.A. air pass through our lungs, making us all smile.I hugged Jordan tightly and looked back one last time, seeing Ian, BurtalMoose, a friend, hanging by a noose from one of the rafters in the warehouse, a smile on his face. Mine faded.
It was over. I was free.
