Dress shopping and secrets

Chapter 16:

I couldn't stop thinking about that paint war. It was fun and all but it felt like Keegan was hiding something from me but I couldn't put my finger on it.

After I caught him on the phone with Chloe I didn't even stay to hear what they were talking about. I ran back to the Bon fire and tried to act like nothing happened but I knew it was still in the back of my mind. I would just have to revisit the idea later.

A few minutes after Keegan came running back and sat down beside me. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me into his lap. I squealed, surprised by his little "act of kindness". I turned around to ask him about the call but before I could get one word out he smashed his lips to mine. Well someone's eager.

We pulled away seconds later. I looked at him crossly. "What was that for?" I asked him.

"I just wanted to kiss my gorgeous girlfriend. Is that a problem.?" He replied back to me with a smirk.

" no not at all just tell me when you are next time.." I trailed off and turned around and smiled. He then grabbed both side of my waist and completely turned me around on his lap. Our faces were just mere seconds apart. He started to lean in closet and closer trying to tease me. " I'm going to kiss you now. Is that alright?" He whispered. I could feel his cool breath on my lips rising my anticipation. All I could get out was a nod before he yet again smashed his lips to mine again. Turning into a passionate kiss. And in that moment I forgot about everything that had happened that night. Just me and him.

That was 2 days ago. I never got the nerves to ask him the question so I just decided to let it go. I guess it's for the best. It was now Sunday. I haven't seen Keegan since Friday so I was a little nervous. I was also dreading running into Chloe. I mean who wants to?

Oh yeah and today was also the football banquet. Keegan had asked me on Saturday over the phone if I would be his date to the banquet. I asked him what it was for and he said tat it was for football and he was on the football team with Sam and Zach too. I agreed and called Kayla.

" are you going to the football banquet?" I asked her.

" yeah Zach asked me last night." She said.

" good! I need help with what to wear! Call kaylee and meet me at the dress shop across town." I yelled into the phone and hung up. I grabbed my purse and my sunglasses and ran out the door. I left a note telling aunt Nancy where I was going. She has always been supportive of my relationship with Keegan. She adored him. And so did I.

I jumped into my jeep and drove down to the dress shop across town. I knew my way around this town well. I have learned a lot since I have moved here. All thanks to Keegan.

When I got there I noticed Kayla's car was in the parking lot. I parked me jeep and hopped out. I locked the doors and ran inside. There I noticed kaylee and Kayla looking through some racks in the front if the store. I ran up to them and hugged them. "Oh thank The Lord y'all are lifesavers!" I squealed. They both laughed.

"Okay. Okay. Lets get shopping!" Kaylee yelled. We all high fived and started looking for dresses immediately.

2 hours and 30 dresses later we all found our dresses. Kayla found a high neck black dress that was beaded at the neckline down to the bust. The bottom ended at her mid thigh and and was made out of tool. She also got red ankle boot heels with a black zipper along the side of it.

Kaylee found a strapless white flow-y dress that ended down to her knees. It had a sweet heart neck line and was beaded at the top. She paired her dress with black heels with bows on top of them.

My dress was a tight fitted blue feeds with sleeves. At the shoulders there were circles cut out of them. Around the circles there were silver beading around it. The dress ended right above my mid thigh. I paired my dress with high platform black heels with red soles.

We all looked pretty hot. "How about y'all come over tonight and down the night so we can go to school together tomorrow and get ready for the banquet too." I suggest after we purchased our dresses and shoes.

"Okay let me ask my mom." Kaylee told me. She went off dialing her moms number.

I looked over at Kayla waiting for her answer. "My parents are out of town so I'm in!" She squealed. She always loved to have sleepovers with us. Like always.

Kaylee came back and told me that her mom said yes. "Okay just meet me at my house in an hour so I can convince aunt Nancy to let y'all stay okay?" I told them. They nodded and waved goodbye while getting into Kayla's car and driving away. I got into my jeep and drove home.

Once I was home I walked into the kitchen and dropped my bags on the counter and grabbed an apple and took a bite.

" Rowen is that you?!" I heard aunt Nancy shouted from the top if the stairs.

" yeah!" I shouted back.

"Ooh let me see what you bought!" She squealed and ran down the stairs. She pulled my dress out of my bag and held it up for her to see. "Oh my gosh it's gorgeous!" She said speechless. I laughed "thanks aunt Nancy." I replied to her. She then pulled out the shoes and smiled. "Go try these on I wanna see you in it!" She told me shibin the shoes and dress in my arms making me drop my apple. She pushed me into the bathroom and closed the door. I then striped out of my clothes and pulled my dress on and then slipped my shoes on.

I walked out the bathroom to face a gawking aunt. She had years in her eyes. "Aunt Nancy??" I questioned. "You look just like your mother." She replied. Even though I never did get to see my mom I always knew that I looked like her. I looked back at my aunt who was now in full on years. Walked up to her and hugged her right while she sobbed into my shoulder. I couldn't help but let a small tear slip out of my eye.

After our little bawl moment I asked aunt Nancy if Kayla and kaylee could come over. She agreed and walked into the kitchen and starts to clean. She has always cleaned when she was upset. It was pretty funny.

I texted Kayla and kaylee telling them they could come over and put my dress and shoes in my closet.

An hour later Kayla and kaylee and I were in my bedroom in years from laughing so hard. We were watching a YouTube video by Jenna Marbles. She is fucking hilarious. After our video we decided it would be best if we watch a chick flick. I went down stairs to get some popcorn. When I went back upstairs I noticed Kayla and kaylee were whispering about me.

"When do you think she will find out?" Kayla whispered.

Find out what.?
