Chpt 23

"What do you mean!" Gem and Ini shouted in unison. Obviously the Gemini the Twin zodiac.

"All the gods had said was that I'm afraid." Juna sighed.

"It's because of those Chinese zodiacs! I bet!" Leo yelled. I stood fast.

"No it isn't! They are my friends!" I growled. My muscles tightened as I balled my hands into fist. "If you try to hurt them. I'll kill you." I glanced at Tohru. The only non-zodiac. The defenseless one.

"What if we kill them before you kill us?" Leo challenged.

"I doubt that'd happen. But if it came to that... I'd kill myself. Because I'd know my family didn't trust me. So I would kill myself right then and there." I retorted. A tear fell from my face.

"Crystal don't." Shel whispered. Yuki, Shigure, Kyo, and Tohru looked at me with a surprised look.

"You wouldn't kill yourself over some foolish Chinese zodiac." Leo smirked.

"I would. I'd die for my friends." I growled, "and you most certainly aren't my friend Leo. I hate you. If I saw you ding on this floor of our ancestors. I wouldn't care I'd probably spit on you. I'd hope you'd go to the under world with Hades." Leo gave me a hurt look then glared at me. A scream came from the crowd. It was Shimmer. A sweet and quiet girl. I ran over she was one of my friends. "Shimmer!" She had a bloody gash on her arm.

"Something just flew in and cut my arm." Shimmer cried. Her whole body shook. I hugged her tight. "I'm fine Crystal."

"Go to the infirmary. You'll be ok." I promised. Shimmer nodded and smiled at me.

"Everyone lets calm down. Ok. The New Years ball is going to drop soon!" Juna exclaimed. Everyone stopped murmuring and cheered. A large screen came down. We all chanted.

"Five, four, three, two, one!" We cheered. "Happy new year!" Shel and I hugged. When I let go of Shel. Yuki hugged me. I saw Tohru and Kyo holding hands. I smiled. Shigure had his arms around Layla and Carnation's necks.

"Is he drunk?" Layla asked.

"That's how he always acts." Carnation sighed. I noticed they all had hint of worry in their eyes. It must if been about the omen. I looked at Yuki. He smiled but his purple eyes worried.

"Yuki. The omen wasn't about you." I assured.

"I know Crystal. There's just... I'll tell you later..." Yuki replied with a smile.

"Ok." I smiled. Classical music played again. "Wanna dance?"

"I'd love to Crystal." Yuki smiled. We held hands and went to dance. Yuki held me gently as we swayed back and forth.

"So what's wrong?" I asked.

"Well... It's nothing to worry about ms. Crystal." Yuki assured.

"Yuki I told you this don't call me ms. Crystal. I'm not a teacher am I?" I laughed.

"Right sorry." Yuki smiled.

"And Yuki. If you're worrying about it. I'm gonna worry too." I whispered.

"Fine come with me then." Yuki guided me upstairs and into my room. I sat on my bed.

"Ok what's wrong?" I asked. Yuki faced the door.

"Akito." Yuki began. "He's the head of the house and is very mean. He only cares for himself. Tonight was the Sohma new year party. Akito will be mad if he finds out we here instead. He'd be even madder if he found out you where a zodiac. Or that... I love you." I blinked a few times.

"I-I love you too Yuki." I replied. Yuki turned around and smiled. "But how can you love me? I'm not pretty or anything. Especially in my true form." Yuki came over to me.

"Crystal never say you aren't pretty. You are beautiful. I could still see you're true beauty inside if your true form. I didn't care how you looked because. I knew it was you." Yuki smiled.

"I saw the fear in your eyes when you saw me though." I replied. "I could see it. You thought I was a monster."

"Crystal you aren't a monster. You are a amazing girl." Yuki assured. He gently kissed me. "Get some rest now Crystal."

"Good night Yuki." I whispered. He smiled and kissed me once more then left. I took off my dress and put on pjs.
