Awhile later we where in school again and it was the day of the run. Everyone wore their gym uniforms.

"Tohru I don't think I can run it." Saki informed Tohru.

"At least try Saki." Tohru assured. Carnation and stretched. My brown curly hair was pulled into a high ponytail.

"I challenge you to a race!" I heard Kyo challenge. I turned and saw Kyo pointing at Yuki and jabbering on about racing. I walked over.

"You guys are racing?" I asked.

"Yeah why?" Kyo asked.

"Mind if I race too?" I asked.

"Why not." Yuki smiled.

"You might of beat me once! But I'll be faster!" Kyo challenged.

"You think you're faster? I was on swim team and track. And I'm from Greece, home to the Olympics and greatest athletes ever!" I smirked.

"Yeah so?" Kyo growled.

"That means I can run the right way and I have more powerful legs." I smirked.

"Well. We'll see who's better at the finish line." Kyo smirked.

"Very well." I laughed.

"Let's get ready." Yuki suggested.

---

The whistle blew. The three of us where in the front. Kyo and Yuki where running as fast as they could. I paced myself into a jog.

"That the best you can do?" Kyo laughed.

"You'll eat those words at the finish line!" I smirked. The crowd of runners where far behind us. "I find it kind of sad that I can jog as fast as you can run." Yuki laughed.

"Hey! That's not funny!" Kyo growled. We passed the half way mark. Kyo and Yuki looked exhausted already. I still had plenty of energy. I began to run. I ran with long and powerful strides. I was ahead of Kyo. They where falling behind. I ran fast. I could see the finish area. I heard Kyo catching up with heavy breaths. I powered ahead. I crossed the finish line.

"Great time Crystal." The gym teacher complimented. I nodded and put my heads behind my head and walked back and forth. Kyo finally crossed the finish line breathlessly and sweaty.

"About time." I smirked.

---

Tohru and Carnation crossed.

"Where's Saki?" I asked.

"She stayed at the beginning." Tohru informed.

"Where's Yuki?" Carnation asked. I shrugged.

"I dunno he never crossed." I shrugged.

"Oh no." Tohru gasped.

"What?" Carnation asked.

"Yuki had asthma. What if he's hurt!" Tohru exclaimed.

"We have to find him!" I urged.

"But we have to go." Carnation pointed out.

"I have an idea. Carnation hide your glasses." I suggested.

"What why? I can't see without them." Carnation complained as she hid them. The four of us walked up to the gym teacher.

"Carnation lost her glasses running. May we go help her look for them?" I asked.

"Ok just be fast." The gym teacher nodded then went inside. We ran to where we ran. Carnation put her glasses back on.

"Yuki!" I called as I ran.

"Yuki!" We all called. We where at the bridge we ran by. I heard a small cough. I stopped. Everyone stopped. I heard another cough.

"Yuki?" I called.

"Crystal?" Yuki's voice called out quietly.

"Yuki!" I exclaimed. I slid down the hill. Yuki laid on the ground. I ran over. "Yuki!" I cradled his head. The others came down. Yuki breathed heavily.

"We have to get him home." Tohru informed.

"How? We can't carry him. Hatsuharu isn't around." Kyo noted.

"Tohru can you hug him so that we can carry him?" I suggested. Tohru nodded. She hugged Yuki. In a puff of purple smoke Yuki turned into a rat. I picked him up and gingerly carried him as we ran.

---

We ran into the house. Shigure looked up.

"What happened?" Shigure asked.

"Yuki had a asthma attack." I informed. Shigure quickly dug through a drawer and pulled out a inhaler. I set Yuki down. In a flash of purple he turned back. Shigure pulled a blanket over him and put the inhaler in his mouth. Yuki sat up.

"Thank you." Yuki thanked weakly. Tohru handed him his clothes. Yuki pulled them on fast.

"Come on let's take you to your room." I urged. I helped Yuki to his room. I laid him down. "Stay here I left your inhaler down stairs." I walked downstairs.

"I called Hatori. He'll be here soon." Shigure informed. I nodded as I took the inhaler.

---

We all stayed with Yuki as Hatori took care of him.

"He should be fine." Hatori informed.

"Hatori may I speak to you in private." Shigure asked. Hatori nodded and they walked away. Tohru, Carnation, and Kyo left.

"Thank you Crystal." Yuki thanked, "do you mind getting me some water?" I stood.

"Ok. I'll be right back." I assured. I shut his door and walked down the hall. I heard Shigure and Hatori talking. I listened carefully.

"Has Akito come back? After he attacked Crystal?" Hatori asked.

"No thankfully. I believe Crystal had opened up Yuki more. He seems much happier around her." Shigure informed.

"Yes. But she's being put in danger Shigure." Hatori warned.

"She'll be fine Hatori. We are staying with Crystal at all times." Shigure assured.

"I'm afraid that isn't enough Shigure. Akito will do anything to hurt Crystal." Hatori replied.

"We'll have to try." Shigure sighed. "She can't know that she's in a lot of danger though. I don't want her to leave."

"You care a lot for her as well Shigure?" Hatori asked.

"She's like family to me. I knew her parents for a long time." Shigure informed. I quickly tip toed away.

---

I gave Yuki his water. Yuki smiled then sipped the water.

"Thank you Crystal." Yuki smiled.

"I guess I'll go to my room." I replied.

"You can stay here if you'd like." Yuki suggested.

"Are you uh sure?" I asked. I blushed slightly.

"It's fine Crystal." Yuki assured. I sat down beside him. I leaned on his shoulder as he fingered through my curly brown hair.
