Aaryn showed up to Derrick's apartment ready to have a few drinks and just chill. When Derrick answered his face betrayed him.

"You cool?" Aaryn raised her eyebrow pushing her way inside.

"Yeah, I'm good what's up?" he closed the door behind her.

"Nothing, brought the good stuff." She took out a small black case and began rolling up.

"Let me ask you something." He sat down next to her passing her a lighter.

"What's up?" she kicked her shoes and got comfortable.

"What's the deal with you and Jennifer?" he looked at her before looking away.

"Man..." she hit the blunt. " She's cool, I like being around her that's about it though. Why?"

"She just seems to be really caught up on you." He tried to smile playfully but he knew he was telling himself the truth.

"Yeah, I noticed. It's cute sometimes, like I have my own fan, and sometimes it's like I need her to take a step back." she passed the blunt to him. Then got up to get some cups from the kitchen.

Derrick took a hit. He wasn't sure if he should tell Aaryn how he really felt about Jennifer. Would it be over stepping a boundary? She basically just admitted she doesn't care about her, and he could offer Jennifer so much more than his sister could.

He shook his head laughing before taking another pull. Aaryn and Derrick made eye contact, she wiggled her eyebrows before. The laughter broke the silence and she handed him one of the drinks she made.

"What about you?" Aaryn asked ashing the blunt.

Derrick tried to hide a panicked looked. Did she know he had feelings for her? What could he possibly say to make her understand if she did know?

"Do you have anyone you talk to? It's been a few months since the last girl."

"Oh, nah I've just been laying low. You know; not really looking for anything." He looked down at his drink.

"You should at least try to get laid. You've been kinda on edge bro." she laughed.

"I think you get laid enough for the both of us."

"True. I'm good at what I do. What can I say?" She playfully shrugged her shoulders.

"And what is that? Trying to catch something?" His tone was serious.

"Whoa, first of all I don't even sleep with that many people. That's unsanitary. Only like three girls, and they're on rotation." She finished the last of the blunt and put the clip in her black case.

"Do they know about each other" Derrick wanted to know; no he needed to know. How far Aaryn would or could go with other people.

"In a sense. I'm not like hey Jennifer here's girl A and B and you're C. But they do know I'm not taken and I can do as I please." She put her shoes back on.

"Do you expect them to be only with you?"

"Nah, I would like that but it would be real fucked up of me to do that to them and expect them to do the opposite." She got up and headed for the door. She turned around. "What's with the third degree?"

"Just tryna be like you" he laughed.

"You could try but I doubt it'll happen, you're too nice of a guy Derrick. Ima catch you later." She walked out his apartment.

Derrick finished his drink. Tonight didn't go how he wanted to. Why couldn't he just say what he was thinking? He was really torn on what to do. First he had no idea how to approach a girl who, well only likes girls and if she would even give him a chance.
