Chapter Seven Rivendell

Kili's POV

When we reached the gates of Rivendell we were greeted by an elf. He greeted Gandalf in his native tongue and Gandalf greeted him back. I rushed forward with Falathiel, "Please help her!" I begged. Two other elves came forward and took her from me. "Please, let me go with her," I called.

"You can go to her when she is healed. The healers need room to work on her," the elf that had greeted us said. He then continued his conversation with Gandalf which I couldn't understand a word of. If Falathiel were here she would be able to tell me what they were saying. I then heard the horn I had heard just as Falathiel fell at my feet in the ravine we were in. Horses then came running towards us and Thorin pulled us into a tight circle and told us to raise our weapons.

Most of us compiled because he was our leader, the rest of us because we were nervous about having more than 12 horses circling us. One horse stepped out of the circle and stopped, bringing the horses to a halt. "Lord Elrond," Gandalf said before speaking in the elves' native tongue. Elrond talked to him in his own tongue before getting off his horse and handing what looked like orc weapons to the elf that had greeted us.

"Something or someone has drawn them near."

"That may have been us," Gandalf answered him. They must be talking about the orcs. It wasn't long before we were being taken inside for dinner, first being shown to our rooms so we could set our stuff down and the elf, Lord Elrond went to see to Falathiel. I had wanted to follow him but he said he would come and get me when he had finished healing her. So here I was sitting in my room with my brother waiting for news on my sister who turned out to be my one. I was going to have to figure out how to tell her.

A few hours later an elf came to get us; this one was female with long dark hair. "My father has sent me to take you to your friend's room." Fili and I both jumped up and followed her. She led us through the winding stone walls carved from the mountain. The sound of roaring waterfalls surrounding us. When she finally stopped at a door which was already open she gestured for us in go on in.

Resting in a bed of white and gold sheets was Falathiel. She seemed to be half asleep. We went on in to see her. She smiled at us and waved us over to which we came to her side immediately. "Falathiel, are you all right? How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine Kili, thank you for carrying me here," she signed and pulled me into a hug. I hugged her back as she also pulled Fili into a hug. I felt tears start to slide down my face and she held me tighter.

Falathiel's POV

I went to dinner wearing an absolutely beautiful dress fit for royalty. An elf had helped me get dressed and cleaned up. My long light blonde hair was pulled back in a very intricate braid. I left my room still a little sore but feeling much better than I had earlier. The holes that had been in my body were now little more than scars.

I followed my guide down to the outside dining hall. The sky was stained reds and oranges with some golds by the setting sun. I was led to the table where Elrond, Thorin, and Gandalf were sitting. I took my seat next to Thorin, having much rather sat with my brothers. Thorin tapped my shoulder after I had taken a few bites and was more focused on my food. I looked at him and he pointed to Lord Elrond.

"I am glad to see you are feeling better my dear." I smiled at him, trying to convey my thanks as I signed it. "I'm sorry my dear, I don't understand what you are saying.

Thankfully Kili came to my rescue, "She said thank you for healing me," Kili said standing next to me. I then assumed he explained to Lord Elrond that I could not hear or speak. I returned to my meal as swords were passed across the table and I watched Lord Elrond's lips as he explained the history of Thorin's and Gandalf's new sword. Both of them had been made for the Goblin wars of the first age. I passed him mine, curious.

"This sword was made for the dragon riders, dragon masters and shape shifters that transformed into the dragon." He looked amazed, he then turned to me. "Who is your blood family?" I shrugged, I had no clue. Lord Elrond turned to look at Thorin so I turned my attention to him.

"My sister took her in when she was just an infant. She had been left in the Blue Mountains. My family is all she knows." I smiled at him warmly and I saw guilt flash across his face. I frowned slightly and tried to meet his eyes when he refused I placed my hand on his arm. He looked at me then to Lord Elrond who must have asked him something. "I've never been kind to her. She was an elf from Mirkwood so I treated like she was worth less than the dirt on my shoes. She's always called me uncle and treated me as though I was family. I never even bothered to learn her language."

I tightened my grip on my Uncle's arm before hugging him.

Thorin's POV

I was explaining to Lord Elrond that I had been nothing but cruel to this girl sitting next to me. I had left her to die outside of the Hidden Valley. She tightened her grip on my arm, but it didn't feel like she was angry, more like she was trying to comfort me. I had no idea why she would do that. I looked at her and she gave me a gentle warm smile before pulling me into a hug. I returned it. "I think you're forgiven," Lord Elrond said smiling before returning to examining her sword.

Both Falathiel and I looked at him, "This sword can only be wielded by those who can either transform into a dragon, ride one, or control one. You have a great destiny ahead of you." He passed back the sword to Falathiel and she placed it back on her belt. Did that mean that Falathiel could help with the dragon? If she could command him then she could make him leave.
