Lacey POV
The day went by pretty slow for me. The teachers weren't to bad and the students are just average teens with rich parents. During lunch I sat under a tree that overlooked the beach. There was just something about the waves that sent a breeze of serenity over me. The bell cut through my thoughts just as I was finally calm for the first time in a while.
After my last two classes, I walked to the Fosters home with Jesus and Jude since they mentioned that Mariana had to stay for dance or something. When we arrived home, I walked upstairs and tossed my book bag beside my bed. None of my teachers gave me homework since it was my first day so I grabbed my iPod and headphones and headed to the backyard.
I sat underneath the big oak tree and blasted my music to block out all of the surrounding sounds. I must have dosed off because I felt an arm shaking my shoulder. I quickly grabbed the arm and opened my eyes widely.
"Sorry," I apologized to Lena when I realized it was her.Lena's POV
"Don't worry about it sweets. I just came to tell you that dinner is ready," I responded. What had this young girl gone through to possibly have reflexes like that and such a frightened facial expression.Lacey's POV
I nodded and got up so that we could head inside. "Would you mind setting up the cups on the tables honey," Stef asked me. I shook my head and went to the cabinet she pointed out so I could get the cups. It didn't take long for the table to be set and for us to be eating. The Fosters were all discussing how their days went and I just remained quiet. I wasn't in the mood to be talkative nor did I know them well enough to want to be.
When we all finished and placed the dishes in the sink, I began to head upstairs.
"Where are you going Lacey? We are about to watch a movie," Jude told me. Damn!! I got the feeling that I wouldn't be able to get out of this so I turned around and made my way to the couch.
While the twins argued about which movie to watch Jude sneakily got a movie and placed it in the DVD player. I had to smirk at his actions. "Smart kid," I thought in amusement. I was too entertained by Mariana and Jesus's bickering as the previews played to notice that Stef and Lena enter the living room.
"Okay guys that's enough. Besides of you two had stopped a while back, you would have saw that Jude already chose a movie," Stef reprimanded.
They huffed in defeat and turned away from each other. I saw Jude smile at this while I tried to hide mine by placing my hand over my mouth.
Lena passed Jude the popcorn for him and twins to share since they were on the floor and Stef held one in her lap for the Lena and I to reach since she was in the middle.
I looked at the television screen just in time to see that Jude had decided on a comedy. This was going to be a night filled with laughs since we would be watching a Madea movie. I began to not feel so upset about Jude catching me before I made it upstairs.Authors Note
